Nah, if I go to “DRL OFF” on the stalk, DRLs go off.

The setting allows the DRLs to be on when the stalk is in auto and it’s bright outside.

This is customizable through the radio I believe.

Does this only disable the chime when you are moving or when you start the vehicle?

If you are talking about the seat belt chime, it is off permanently. Only the red instrument light remains.

That is how I have mine set. I can back out of the garage, pull in, and drive with no chime. Just yesterday while heading down a long straight, I unlatched my belt to take off a sweatshirt without a sound.

I did you get 'are-you-sure' confirmation prompts when you changed the setting?

Do you guys know if you can get the horn to honk when you lock the doors from the key fob? My old Subaru did this and it’s great peace of mind when I’m halfway across a parking lot and I can hear the vehicle beep to know it’s locked.

I know that it can be changed in the app. I used it to shut off everything but the outside light flashes. I think from within the Entune setting, you can change it between the horn and the quieter chime?

Yeah I had to acknowledge an "are you sure" prompt as well. What kind of OBD reader are you using?

Ok then I’ll give this a shot. That horn beep would be huge for me haha

It can’t be done through Entune. I’ve been through all the screens a few times

An ELM 327 BT adapter that I bought in 2014. It is not one from Carista.

That is what is great about these customizations. You can make it your own.

I fired up Carista the other day and about the ONLY thing I found I could change in it that I can't from Entune is the number of lane change flashes! I have Techstream but I haven't been able to get it to communicate with my truck. I have the adapter cable I got, lights flash on it when connected, and Techstream is running on Win 10 but no communications! Will Techstream work with a wi-fi OBDII unit? I haven't tried yet.

Apple locks down their Bluetooth stack. Manufacturers have to pay Apple to use their Bluetooth, and therefor MANY Bluetooth devices will not work with Apple because they don't want to pay the ransom. However, wi-fi OBDII adapters will work with any iPhone app I have tried it with including Carista.

Does anyone know if there is an option (Carista, Techstream, etc.) for when you park and turn off the truck, the stereo will remain on until you open the drivers door? This would be great!

    Hey, Folks.

I just got an app update for Carista on Android. The 3rd Gen Taco is now listed. Also, it says that we can now service the TPMS (add new sensor IDs).

Can Carista allow windows to be rolled up with the fob like my old VW? That would be enough to get me on-board.

I believe that you can change some of the auto up / down settings. If there is not a window button on the remote, then I do not think there is an option to enable that. Basically, it allows you to change the customizations that are listed in the owners manual which only a dealer can typically do.

I had hoped to find a function in Carista or TechStream that would turn off the key in chime. No luck in either.

Still, there are a bunch of helpful changes that can be made. If you already have a working BT adapter, then there are free subscription options, just remember to cancel early! If you buy the Carista adapter for about $20, you get a free month I believe.

The Carista adapter should work with Torque and OBD Fusion afterward. You should confirm that though.

Unless something has changed, I can confirm that the Carista adapter works with OBD Fusion (for IOS). The in-app purchase of Toyota specific PIDs (10 bucks) is worth it too IMHO.

    Sweet! Thanks for confirming.

Also, I have a subscription to Carista that will expire on October 19th if any local folks want some changes. Yeah, I didn't cancel the free week early. Haha!

Bummer. My GTI just used the lock/unlock keys held down to raise/lower windows. Worked great when you are in the house and it starts to rain.
