I'm digging this 66* down here.

 

Borrow a tent and sleeping bag from someone, pack a bunch of food. Pretty much all you need besides spare parts and gas

 

Just got back from going out to lunch with a buddy. So damn nice out

 

Yeah... I had to run out to the post office to send some boxes out. Definitely didn't feel like coming back to work. But then again, I can go out in any weather and don't feel like coming back, so...

 

I wish it had been like this yesterday so I could have enjoyed it more, yesterday wasn't terrible though. I was out in the garage working on stuff with the door open with just a hoodie on and comfortable.

 

You guys have 3/4 of the year like this. I'm only asking for my 1/4 of the year to have snow and ice dammit!

 

More like 5-6 months of cold, and 2-4 of tolerable with the remainder as beautiful summer weather.

Winter here is usually November-March/April.

 

Anyone been to Rocky Mountain Offroad Park in Maine? Found it while looking for trip ideas but could only find a facebook page about it. Looking for somewhere to do a bit a wheeling and test out my RTT for the first time. Any other suggestion?

 

I get about 12 weeks tops of snowmobiling in the Northeast, January-March. Ice fishing is January 2nd to March 31st. That's winter you Cajun sumbeech- 12 weeks!

The beauty of Truck camping verses backpacking is you have a truck... so you don't need the super fancy expensive lightweight back packing gear. Hit up walmart, dicks or cabellas and you can pretty quickly be set to go.

I suggest ENH. Iirc you need a pretty well equipped vehicle for rmtp. ENH is probably a better bet and there's a ton of places to camp in NH

Man if it's cold enough that I need a mid to heavy jacket, it's winter! There may or may not be snow on the ground and the lake may not be frozen, but it's definitely winter! Then again it's 80s this week in New Orleans, and that's still pretty winter-like for them, so my perception may be skewed.

I'll happily take the blame for that! Nothing's going to ruin today for me!

Completely agree! And that's usually November-March/April. Hopefully this year it'll turn spring in March.

I lasted 33 years outside before I wimped out.
