Black Tip Exhaust

Haven't seen any pics of the black exhaust so I'd thought I share

It's bolt on just ike the chrome one.

I've been looking for an aftermarket option but don't want to spend $70 since it's purely aesthetic and will likely get messed up from normal use.

Anyone have any recommendations for an aftermarket option?

On my 18 the tip is flared out to 2.75", behind that I'd guess it's 2.5". I've contemplated cutting off the flared part and having a tip welded on but would love a simple solution.

 

just spray it black with high temp paint. works great, looks great.

 

I don't have anything to spray black. That was my initial plan after seeing someone else's post in a similar thread, using VHT Black Metallic high heat. However, my exhaust is just a flared end of the pipe. I can't imagine that'll look good being painted.

I pulled my whole stock exhaust off a soon as I bought it and put on the TRD exhaust. Mine also came with the "Black-Out" kit and has the black tip. I'm selling the entire exhaust, if anyone is interested PM me.

 

What kinda extra pony’s is that givin you ?

 

I couldn't give you an exact number since I've never put it on a dyno, but between the TRD Intake and the TRD Exhaust. I'd guess somewhere around 300 HP total. So an extra 20hp. It's definitely quick though. I had a 2011 single cab Dodge Ram R/T with Borla Exhaust and a VaraRam intake before I bought my Tacoma. It was a 5.7L V8 with just over 400hp and I'd say it would be close between the too since the Tacoma has a 3.5L V6. At least it feels that way lol
