What's a good tire that gives you the All-terrain/offroad look, but balanced better for more street

Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Zero issues balancing, great on and off pavement.

 

I've heard good things about the Firestone Desination AT. Not overly aggressive so you won't get the loud road noise, and good on-road manners.

 

Every time I see those rims I'm in love. You could bake a f'n pie in those things.

I'm very happy with my Hankook dynapro ATMs. They look pretty aggressive, have been great for the light offroading I've done, but are quiet on the street/highway and good in the snow.

 

I don't see why you need to search past where you started, KO2's are not loud. My wifes tires on her 2017 sentra are louder than my KO2's. I bought a set of Terra Grapplers for a GMC Seirra I had and they were loud as crap from day one, I was so dissapointed. I noticed literally no sound difference in the KO2's vs the stock tires on my T4R. Key is getting them balanced properly.

I had the gen 1 terra grapplers in 265/75r16 on my truck and loved them, can’t find them in that size anymore now they have the gen 2s. I’m currently sitting here waiting to have KO2s installed in that same size.

 

Very informative. I will be replacing my stock 16 inch Goodyear with 265/75R16. This will be just a bit taller than stock 265/70R16.

Seems like top votes for daily commute that look "aggressive" are Nitto Terra Grappler and Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. Notice the Terra Grappler G2 is not on my list, they don't offer it in 16 inch

I'll go with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, its lighter at 44lbs. I threw in the stock Goodyear just for fun. Not sure if the truck came with BSW or OWL. White letter add 5 lbs

 

^^^ TRDpro yeah it kinda sucks the new gen 2 terra grapplers don’t come in 16” wheels. If they did I would have got them again, I love the look of them and they do good for everything I do. Highway/city/snow/dirt and do pretty good mud.

Cooper AT3s are a solid choice as well. Doesn't really have an aggressive sidewall but the tread pattern handles just about anything (minus deep mud). And they last a while. Our tundra got 80k or so out of them, my buddy has them on all of his farm trucks (so naturally always overloaded and going in and out of wet fields without issues) and he's been getting 60k or so out of them. We have some on our company truck that has 40k very hard overloaded miles on them.

I have the STMaxxs and love them, they are more noisy then an AT tire though. Nitto Terra Grapplers are good as well. I had the Falken ATW3s and had crazy fast wear on them. Falken ended up buying them back since it was almost to the wear bars with 15kish on them

 

1. Not many tires look as good as the BFG KO2 to me, it's the tire that I'm running on my 2016 OR right now. While they're pretty quiet on the road they're not perfect. Load range E make them stiffer of course and not really needed for highway use unless you have a real heavy load on your truck. Mine just won't balance out to satisfy me and a they're really bad about picking up small rocks. When I wear these out I'm going back to Toyo Open Country AT2. I have had these on other trucks and I really like them even though the side wall lugs don't look as aggressive. There's a trade off for everything I suppose.

 

If you are in a snow zone then I can't recommend DuraTrac's enough. It's a good AT that looks like an MT, with very little sacrifice in road performance. They have great road manners, last a long time, pretty decent off road, and have a snow rating and can be studded. Only down fall is the side walls are a little thin so they're not great for your hardcore wheelers, but this decreases the sprung weight and gives for a pretty compliant feeling on road and absorbs little bumps nicely. They also air down well and give a good plush ride.

 

What size tires are they ??

 

Ive run Terragrapplers, KO2 and now Maxx ST.

1. Maxx ST (quiet, agressive, great traction on all terrain, lost 2 mpg)
2. Terragrappler (quiet, soft, ok on all terrains, no noticeable mpg loss)
3. KO2 (quiet, firm, not good in snow, lost 3 mpg)

 

Those 4Runner TRD wheels look fantastic

K02 no questions. Get them in C load and there is no noise. E rated look good but are way to stiff. I had 3 sets on my gen 2. Just dealt with them. C rated is night and day better interns of ride softness.

 

I’ve got a set of Hankook DynaPro ATMs which I love. Had then on a 4Runner years ago. Still an awesome tire. Not overly noisy. Great in snow. Stock size, good looks.
