One of the GPS issues up here are the roads are closed in the winter. The GPS dose not say that. Sometimes it is a long way around.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Thanks everyone. While I do appreciate the thoughts, it was 2005. The pain never heals, but it does dim.

frost heaves ... I always warn the new folks about frost heaves that’ll strip off mufflers on a standard ground clearance car ... and those are unmarked. The ones posted “BUMP” can be like ski jumps. :D

EDIT: We don’t close the road though ... there’s no alternate route.

Good evening folks. Spent the day trying to put together a worksheet that someone who makes a helluva lot more money and 2 echelons higher should be doing...and people wonder why others look for different job positions.

They close the ones around here that they can until the frost line goes down. That will not start for a couple of months though and runs about 6 weeks after that on average. And heavy vehicles are not allowed until well after that. One of the clubs that I shoot at will run out of clay targets in April every year. So the rig sits at the bottom of the hill and we take turns unloading boxes of clays and hauling them up to the club with our pickup trucks. Usually June before they let the big trucks in.

There never seems to be a shortage of pickup trucks at a shooting club.

When I see one of these unsuitable for Standard Passenger Car Travel signs

Often they are unsuitable for my truck too LOL. This one is 10 miles long and goes to hell in a hand basket quickly. But don't run into a lot of traffic getting into spots to hunt birds down it. Except for an occasional ATV. Several times they have stopped and asked directions because they are lost. And not smart enough to read a topo or National Forest map to begin with. Not that many of the roads are on maps, but this one is. And so are a lot that are now a single track through the woods if that.

My GPS normally says "Navigating Off Road". Shirley (yes I named my GPS Shirley) aint got a clue most of the time. Surely your joking Shirley.
