Um false the reason a car drifts to the rt is road crown. I can set an alingment up on a car to compensate for the avg rd crown which is ~2* and the vehicle will track straight for far longer than 5 seconds.

Huh I understand it happens from the crown in the road. Even with new cars in a parking lot or on the drag strip they always favored the right side after 1/8 mile.

Maybe its just my experinces, or a age old wise tale that I grew up with.

Age old wives tale abt a manufacturer having a car veer away from the center.

I have seen a lot of talk of the Cooper ST MAXX and the BFGoodrich KM2 but not a lot about the Toyo Tires Open Country M/T. Does anyone have any experience with the Toyo's in the 255/85R16?

I have read a lot of things and have decided if I go through Discount Tire I will go Cooper ST MAXX but found that I can go through 4WheelParts and get the Toyo Open Country M/T in the 255/85R16. I like the idea of going through national chains with free rotations and replacement certificates, which is why I have narrowed down to these two.

    Any advice, suggestions, thoughts?

I got tired of this happening every time I serviced my truck. A few years ago I started telling them, just leave the tires alone, I'll check my tires.

Toyos seem to pack up with mud pretty easily/ retain it. Caused some ass puckering slippage on a trail today. Turning the steering wheel and getting no response from the front of the truck next to a 20ft dropout on my side was, well, interesting.

New 255 85r16 ST Maxx for the truck and 235 85r16 Falken AT3s for the trailer!

The 255s looked way bigger than the 235s before they were mounted and had weight on them.

*camper needs some work before the new tires go on*

So, four tanks of gas since the change to steel rims and the Coopers and I don't see any change in mpg. Not better and definitely not worse...

First gen looks great with the steel wheels. Did you notice a big difference in weight?

Currently running 285/75/16's. If I ran the aforementioned 255/80/16's would this cure the rubbing on the cab mount? Now that my lift has settled it happens from time to time.

Currently running 5100s , ome 887s on lowest setting and Dakars in the rear JBA'S set @ 3° of caster
