I’ve actually eaten at the Rock House. Lots of nice rigs and really nice tight butts walking around. I was there in my semi so my wheeling options were severely limited.
Beautiful country.

 

My skill level up to someone experienced may not be that high, but it’s high enough that somehow I always get my stuff home. Skids and sliders are still on order, hopefully will have them in 3-4 weeks. I’m not afraid to try something stupid, but not too proud to use reverse.

What is GSMTR?

 

Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride at Windrock in Tennessee. It’s a week long mostly Toyota event. May 14-19

 

Just looked that up

Can't say I know anyone that's been there. For that event. There are trips to Windrock, though.

 

LBL may be better/safer at this point of the season. Slade/RRG/DBBB is a bit hillier and more likely to be a real test this early. The next10 days will see flash flooding most likely.

 

My vacation time has been awarded and my plans are to be there.

I'm trying to get something annual happening in Sept at Rush Off Road.

My favorite is Black Mountain in Harlan Ky. It's predominantly rock, so it's less muddy but no less challenging. I organize (disorganize) a meet there at the end of October. Also planning a spring/early summer trip this year. (Thinking early May)

My wife and I both really lile Rush Offroad.

RRG ranks high on my list.

There's a meet @ Badlands (Indiana) sometime in April.

Reverse removed my mudflaps for me. As for recovery stuff,,,
Winch will have to wait for winter, gonna try to pick up a hi lift,,,, currently recovery gear is tow straps and a shovel. I carry a come-along, but it’s only rated at 5k lbs.

 

I was just being stupid. No way I'm going to Rush with the amount of water we've gotten. Be a winch fest!

Okay. I've convinced myself. We're going after LBL

 

The little off road trip we did last Saturday ended up being a winch-a-thon. The buddy with the XJ just put new KO2's on. I must have hooked on him 10 times. We turned around and got back on hard ground. After all the freeze/thaw this winter and all the rain it is soggy.

 

Yay decent weather.

 

We need to get a Wildcat off-road run in. Just to see how well everyone likes it and how well trucks do on it. Its like Rush, $15.

 

@presta24 why are you thinking of going with 886 coils?

 

My nephew goes there with his SxS. Tells me we could do it but would go home lighter....about 10 lbs less paint.

 

I'm not winning that contest, but I'm still a fan of the 887s I have. Wonder if it's overkill to go 886 with his bumper and winch? Feel like I've seen those equipped somewhere else.
