Kansas City Tacoma Crew - 816/913

Hey guys, from Kentucky here. I'm planning a trip out West sometime around September from here and will be coming down HWY 70 though Kansas. Any good places off the highway there to stop and maybe camp for a night. Probably looking for somewhere West of Topeka and closer towards Colorado.

I would prefer just government land (Free camping) Over a KOA or private campground. I found a Minooka Park in Bunker Hill, KS? Idk if I can make it the entire drive from Kentucky to Denver. Thanks guys

We can make some mounts outta 1/8 steel. Bend em and drill em at my place.

 

For the rails? I need to get some T slots. If I had a bridgeport I could whip some up but I don't have personal access to any mills anymore.

 

T nits are on Amazons also. I have drill press here, as well as vises and rather large hammers....

 

Let me mock something up real quick. Will be in paint since I don't have solidworks access at work anymore.

A flat piece would work better.

 

Do you use any drafting software or just sketch things out on paper?

 

I used to autocad, but anymore I get an idea......draw it up. Then sometimes ill mock it up
in corrugate if necessary. But there's been a couple i just made as i went. Depends how complicated the piece. I also have two friends that are welder/fabricators..

 

I'm a machinist. I used to be able to use machines for personal work at my old job. Not here.
