Couldn’t get it past 190* and don’t have time to crutch it. Gonna rest for 30 and shred. The bark built up more than I expected.

Don’t even know if I needed to get above 190. Shredded like a dream and tastes amazing. Pitface was clutch.

My tri-tip always comes up to temp in 60 to 90 minutes and I'm disappointed it happened so quickly...

That's a helluva lot nicer than the grill I bought to bring into work lol.

I just got one of the propane Weber Q grills from Lowes on closeout for $100 last spring.

Figured it works well for camping too, nice and light

Tri-tip is also a poor cut of meat :notsure:

Both are good if cooked properly though

So I went back to Costco today. Turns out that after spending $400 on meat I also need a new cooler. Who knew?

24F out now, I can leave the meat in the truck, right? It’s the only cold storage available at the hotel.

12°F here right now 2° in a couple of hours. I'd do it. If you have a topper I'd put in the back. The cab can stay quite warm for awhile it always surprises me how long. Could always open the doors for a bit and let it cool off good first.

I keep an RTIC cooler in the back of the truck even at this time of year. Costco is just down the road from my office and I run there during lunch sometimes. It can also be used to keep some things like milk and beer FROM freezing, not just keeping things cold

Should be fine, throw some ice from the hotel machine on it if you aren’t sure.
