Who's got a techstream setup I can use for an hour or so in the coming weeks. Probably getting my replacement transmission this weekend and will need to use techstream to initialize it to my ECU. I actually have a mini vci cable already, is the access to techstream free? If so I guess I can just download it myself. Never used it before.

Its an absolute pain in the dick to set up. The hard part is finding a laptop running a 32 bit Windows OS since most people upgraded 5 years ago when that changed. @AWilson013 probably has some insight tho

I am pretty busy for the next couple weeks.

I installed an XP VM on my Mac and have it up and running.

I installed this yesterday and it worked as well.
    https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-techstream-in-5-minutes.1034923/

Basically walks you through installing Virtual Box (VM program) and then has a VM already set up with techstream involved.

Download/install virtual box, download the VM he has linked, and run it. Good to go. There's also a program on the desktop to update the firmware on your cable.

Figured I'd ask here before posting anything official. Anyone interested in 285/75R16 St Maxx's with ~10/11 32nds?

Drive like a normal person and you’ll see ;) I drove from Snohomish to Renton and back through morning commute traffic on 405 and got 19.2 according to the computer, adjusting for mileage difference with the tires it was actually 20.3 I think.
False! Andrew did too on 34’s. Also asked my neighbor a while back who had a 470 now has a 460 and he said he got 19 consistently stock.

For reference, mine belonged to a 75 year old man who exclusively drove it from seattle to portland on business and the computer said it got 18.7 mpg

Be interesting to see what the difference is in distance per tire rotation new vs old as the mile on your odo is actually longer with the bigger tires?

Any of you guys local to the Seattle area and want to lend a hand installing a Tacoma pro suspension set up? I seems pretty straight forward but I have never done it before and could sure use an extra set of hands. Beer and pizza on me! I’m in lynnwood but if it’s easier to do it closer to you, I am happy to travel a bit.

    Thanks!!

That's more than my wife gets in her IS commuting in traffic in eco mode.

Run that bitch to empty, fill it up, drive a a few hundred miles, and fill it up. (miles driven * 1.09**)/gallons to fill

**I THINK 9% should be how far off your odometer should be. Mine is a little over 8% w/ 33" tires.

If you're getting that, I want you to drive mine for a few days and see if you can do the same. If so, teach me to drive.

Quick question. I mouthed off to the GM of my local dealer about a bad experience I had. He countered by naming a pretty silly price on the TRD OR DCLB I've been shopping for, and he will give me what I want for my 2nd gen. THE QUESTION: Do I keep the FNs and let them keep the OR wheels and new tires (I have 30K on my duratracs and at least 10k left in them) and then sell the FNs to get the SEMA wheels or SCS from @TheToyotaGarage on the new truck. OR, do I trade the 2nd gen in with the FNs on them and sell the stock OR wheels and tires to pay for the new wheels and tires??? I don't think the bronze FNs will look good on a quicksand truck.

There are tons of 3rd gen wheels for sale already. Tell the dealer your trading the 2nd gen in with some brand new 3rd gen wheels on it.
