Anyone here know a good place in northern wyoming to get a trailer? I just bought a 2018 X3 RS turbo. I am looking to get a trailer but this is the extra wide version, about 72 inches. Its 11 feet long too. Also if you guys have some input on the terrain there, would trailer brakes be necessary? I have the tow package, about 6800 lbs, so total weight should be around 2500 to 3000 depending on trailer. Thanks,

 

If you plan on going up the mountain with it...id get trailer brakes.

As for where to get trailers..none really come to mind but I see them for sale in places all the time in Cody and Billings and such. Boone Fabrication in Cody may make them actually.

 

Forklift Debacle Update:



Ballard Transfer came in get our forklift upright again.

They brought two forklifts of their own. This is Big Bertha:

I gotta say, these guys were pros and made it look easy. But I guess that is their experience showing.

One of Big Bertha's fork tips had a huge shackle and two smaller ones for the 3 pickup points. The smaller ones were 3/4" like we use.

 

@Blackdawg @Squeaky Penguin, CVJ got back to me, looks like $282 an axle with the high angle boots on both ends and no cores, which is pretty much Toyota reman price, so I’ll be going with the CVJ’s in hopes that the high angle boots make a difference.

How many hours do you figure your front end refresh took you on Igor?

General question for everyone, how long have people spent doing the timing belt replacement?

 

Timing belt with water pump can take a full saturday. Depending on your skill level.

Front end refresh..as is when i did LBJ, tie rods, steering rack bushings? mmm..idk..4-5 hours maybe. But i fucked up and had to drop the rack 2 times haha Normally takes less then that. I can swap a CV in under an hour and do a LBJ in less time now..but im well versed doing that

 

Guess they couldn’t get the forks back down the mast? That would have made nervous AF.

 

You can figure on at least a full day for first go round with the TB.

 

I’m doing CV Axles, lower ball joints, upper ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, tie rod boots, steering rack bushings and UCA’s.

 

I think you'll be happy with the CVJs and high angle boots. Two hard seasons on mine and no issues.

Timing belt took me a solid afternoon.

I might take you up on that offer, especially if you have a torque wrench that goes up to 250ft. Lbs. other than that I have access to a nice heated shop with all the air tools ones heart could desire...we’d be talking Pappy Van Winkle not PBR

I might of overshot there, last time I had PVW it was like $300 a bottle, now it’s a mortgage payment...

 

really? My dad got 2 bottles couple years back. Was 100 for 15y and 150 for 18y he got.

 

Who’s his supplier and what’s his personal phone number and address , I haven’t seen it for sale outside of a major metro and the internet prices are steep.

 

think it was some small place in Big Timber MT actually that he got it. Put his name down at like 10 stores in Wyo and MT haha i guess that guy buys all the PVW in the MT
