Spare parts list (no tools on this thread)

Wondering what you guys have on your spare parts list, whether you actually carry them or not.

What are the must have spare parts for remote travel?

Just thinking about it really quickly:

Tie rod ends
Ball joints
Hose clamps
Hoses
Assorted fuses and connectors
Duct tape
Bailing wire

What else?

 

Air and fuel filters

 

The most common for me is light bulbs and tire plugs. A solid PMI before remote travel will keep your truck weight light, and eliminate any weak components before hand. A few have mentioned even bringing CVs with them... I mean, if youre going that hard you should have a chase truck.

I'd say some extra electrical wire in case you have to trail fix some kind of harness.

I’d skip the fuel filter and hoses

 

Cheap and small. Why skip them?

 

I don’t think you can access your fuel filter easy, it’s end of life is estimated past the engine. Small, but it’s not going to be a thing. Keep it in your garage for future replacement if need be. Hose clamps over hoses because clamps tend to pop more often than a hose that’s been looked over and fit for taking a remote trip. I always want to bring all the things to solve every problem, but it’s way smoother to fix all the potential problems beforehand and choke out Murphy’s law as best as you can. If a hose is tip top, it’s gonna stay that way. Clamps and duct tape and zip ties are your insurance for a lot of stuff to get you back in a pinch.
