Custom LED Map and Dome lights

I think its madness to your method and that makes it all work

 

Woohoo! I’m illuminated. Let me know if I have this correct tho. In order for the dome to not come on when the door gets opened I just rocked the switch in the middle, so I can have the maps on only when door is ajar. Sound right?

 

The switch only has 2 positions. ON and ON with door. Stupid.. I know. I did a write up some pages back how to pop the dome housing(not the lens) down and switch the wiring to have a TRUE ON/OFF switch.

 

Ahh yea that kinda dumb. I’ll go back and look. I remember now reading about taking the tin foil out or something. Ha. I’m so stoked. Those reds are killer! And the dome bright enough for the front too!! Wooo

I love my decision to go red passenger map & smoked driver map. The V1 red map is just enough light but not too much and the the smoked is all I need in the front. I went ultimate on dome and when I need the lights of the heavens to shine upon me OH BUDDY DOES IT EVER!!!! I wear my sunglasses at night because I have fucking MESOS!

Thanks again for these “ultimate” maps/dome @mesojdm ... they are pretty awesome as advertised

 

Maybe I'm just dumb but what wires are needed to switch around? I see how to get the housing down, but don't see where the mention of what wires to rewire.

 

Installed the V1 clear map lights and white ultimate dome. Holy mother of god is that dome bright, makes it seem like my windows have no tint on them haha. Love them, thanks!

I ordered map and dome lights at the same time. Got the dome right away but USPS keeps delaying the maps for some reason. Quit teasing me and give me my stuff mail man!

 

Sooooo, the question is, who do you trust more, @mesojdm or USPS? I can say that because once a I take wrong mail to right addresses on my street. I'm sure by now I've got a pension coming . Lol

Call the post office, it's possible there is postage due. Sometimes the shipping post office screws up and ships two items to the same place with the same label information and it gets by, then when it arrives at the destination post office they catch it and want their money. Should just be a couple bucks, and you can go pick them up or have them deliver them and you put the money in an envelope in your mail box.

I am going through this ordeal right now with my maps. They should be there tonight when I get home. I put $3.50 in the mail box when I left this morning.

I made a quick (daytime) video of the MESO map and dome lights in my TRD Pro, just showing the functionality of the lights being consistent with how the stock map lights used to work.
I especially like how the pattern of the dome lights occludes the lights when viewed from the side, so it isn’t blinding if you are walking towards the vehicle.
(Video does not show the color of the red lights very accurately)

Very pleased with the ultimates, I’ll relist my unused red V1s here for sale when I have a moment

 

Thanks for the vid! Yes, I made them to exact dimensions of the OEM lens so all factory functionality would be retained.
And it really shows in your video how the glare is reduced when viewing from the side, exactly as I planned
