    fair enough... however it is highly improbable that a drive line angle caused a diff to grenade. a u-joint, or a driveshaft would fail beforehand. now if he was honestly running and gunning with 33" or 35" tires on stock gears, and the rear imploded, that would be a more likely scenario.

    well, i don't want to keep going back and forth, but toyota is wrong. if they didn't even diagnose the failure to see what was the cause, they're definitely wrong. the dealership barely makes any profit on completing a warranty. if it is a great tech that moves swiftly, they can hope to make a few bucks, if it is a good tech, they may break even, if the tech is tubby mcfatf#ck, then they actually lose money on the warranty repair. the dealerships job is to turn a profit. the manufacturers job is to turn a profit. warranty is really a figment of your imagination to make you feel safe. both dealer and manufacturer will always try to piss out of it, and make you feel like you did something wrong, and the that its your (the end user) job to pick up the pieces.

    the comment made by either the dealer or mfg, to return it back to stock, may have actually been a subtle hint to help you out. in reality; if there are only stock components on the truck when they diagnose & inspect, then they (dealer & mfg) have no recourse but to make the necessary repair under warranty at no cost to you.

    Not sure what side of the deal it's on though....just been seeing it more and more lately.

    I can't return my truck to factory without a grinder and welder and a lot of parts I don't have.
    They gave me a loaner for the 2 weeks they had the truck and then tried to make me pay for it when I came to pick up my truck that they not only didn't fix but caused an electrical fire.
    At this point I would need
    A full 3rd member
    Both axels
    And a new driveshaft
    And to find what the true pinion angle for what the driveline should be since the factory angle it had was wrong.
    Which would mean buying new mounting plates and hardware from total chaos to change the pinion angle.
    Which is a crap ton of money to just FIX the rear end which still leaves me with a rear end that requires wheel spacers, limited droop travel and low power handling.
    So
    By the time I reach the completion of alllllll of that
    I could have dropped a trophy truck rear end in the truck that is 70" wide so no need for wheel spacers
    Bigger and better brakes
    Bigger and better gears and axels with NON TOYOTA parts
    Meaning I can order them from anyone quite easily instead of running into backorder issues with the dealership.
    And it will be a rear end that can handle the 600hp I plan to throw at it in the future.


    The whole bitch about the situation isn't that the rear end bombed itself. It's the fact that it did it wayyyyy before I was ready, you can ask @dirty deeds ive been dodging attending events for a while because the rear was doing something odd.

    The hope was that the rear survived til July at which point I would drive it to Cali and have it replaced, but it bombed itself in the beginning of this year and thus made it soooo much more complicated because now I had to find a transport and pay for a flight out there.


    Long story short
    The Currie rear end was a planned upgrade
    But the failure of the factory one screwed my plans because my budget and transport option got kicked to the curb

    Going with an after market major brand is great in respect to Currie is popular with jeep nerds and it's a ford 9"

    So getting parts for it will be mega easy if I ever need them

    As opposed to trying to get parts with hope of finding a junker

    Just an update

    I had paid 1100$ for transport of the truck from Lexington to California

    As of today the guy has officially backed out and will no longer be transporting the truck

    I have used this and Uship

    Problem I ran into was those who were licensed and insured were 2700^^ and those who were below 2k were unable to provide proof of insurance and licensing.

    Not yet but he said he will have a WU check sent my way today.


    I am quite frustrated
    Trying to not give up lol

    Personally, I'd get my truck just driveable before I decided to do the end-all/be-all mods.

    New shock tabs
    New leaf spring perches
    New driveshaft
    New axles
    New 3rd member
    New wheel bearings


    Or
    New shock tabs
    New leaf spring perches
    New driveshaft
    And a whole new rear end

    Absolutely guys
    I will walk out back to my money tree right now

    Financing a full rebuild of the back of my truck twice is totally affordable.

    I 100% understand everyone's thought process
    I just can't afford to rebuild this rear end twice when I can barely afford to rebuild it once
