Mx's Build Thread.

Well, might as well start one now. I just got cleaned up after a day of hell. Installed my 2" Toytec AAL's, and my 5100's on all four corners.
2006 DC SR5 4x4

Modifications
- TRD OR Wheels from factory
- 255/70/16 Mastercraft Courser AT2's
- 2" AAL's from Toytec (Non-tsb)
- Bilstein 5100 Shocks all the way around (Front set at 2.5" of lift)
- Front tint to match rear
- Jensen Flip screen head unit (DVD, MP3, & Ipod hookup)
- K&N Drop-in Air filter

Yes, thank you man really. Even with the pic's on Toyotanation, i couldn't figure it out until you told me about the sway bar I mean I saw it was in the way, but I didn't know if I could take it off

 

Did you leave the sway bar off?

 

no, I unbolted it, then the Shock/coil just slid right out. I went and got a coil compressor for $35, but I'll be taking it back sometime this week. It bent like hell compressing those coils.

 

You should take the sway bar off when you get the time. It is so much better with it off!

 

Really? what is the difference with it on of off? What the hell do they put it there for lol? It's not like I'm racing at Road Atlanta.

 

that looks GREAT! did you take any measurements, before and after? i didnt on mine. still kicking myself.

 

I freaking did!. . . but I lost the damn paper I wrote it down on. I do remember the new measurements,
Rear Center of wheel to fender is 24.5" (approx)(I think)
Front Center of wheel to fender is 23" (approx)(I think)

hoping the rear will settle a half inch or so.

 

Probably to pass vehicle inspection and certain laws. With it off you will get more body roll and more articulation.

Would you say your truck is about level or is the front slightly higher than the rear?
It's a bit hard to tell from the pics.

I've got a 2" AAL from Toytec (no TSB) on my truck and the front set at 1.75" and I feel that the front is a bit too low for my liking.

$80 for the AAL's
$70 for new tools

Actually the rear was higher than the front at first (more than I wanted). But, now that the AAL has settled it looks perfect. Definately go 2.5 with a 2" AAL
