    Hey guys,
Had something wierd happen yesterday. As i was driving my mph gauge started bouncing all over the place and my cruse control didn't work. Everything else was fine. It started working fine again after about 20 mins and now it is acting up again today. Any thoughts on where to start.

Check the plugs the trans. Also, what is the battery voltage? Low, high?

I remember back in the day when this happened the inside of cable would get rusted up, we would pull the cable out of the housing and lube it up good with axle grease and slide it back in. It would then be good as new.

It is unfortunate that we don't have those mechanical cables anymore. All electronic.

Hey guys I was finally able to get the code. It said it was speed sensor A. I have no speedometer or cruise control. It was intermittent, but now its permanent. So this should be the one on the tranny I believe. I just hate that when i look up speed sensor for a standard 2008 tacoma 4.0 v6 I get two dozen options to pick from.

If nothing else go to the dealers parts department and have them look it up.
