Now you have gone and done it.... Now we get to relive the whole argument that was had in the BS thread earlier this week.

Well shit, I never pay attention to the BS thread so I missed it. Which side won? The “it’s a prinsu rip off and you should feel bad for being a copycat” side or the “it’s new and totally original and you’re just a hater” side?

No comment. I don’t really care either way. The rack looks good and looks like it will be functional too. The price would probably be my deciding factor between the two and the fact I can get the rokman locally.

The only thing that is really similar between the 2 is the fact that anyone can buy that extrude anywhere and build a roof rack. Mounting, lighting and plate materials are different. Mounting is actually way different and is the biggest thing that sets it apart.

I don't think there was any winners because it was a looser statement to begin with.

It doesn’t just mount to the factory roof rack spots?

Yes, almost all racks mount to the factory locations. The Prinsu uses the side plate with a bend to mount to the factory location. The ROX-RAK uses an adjustable mount that secured to the cross bars that allows for height/centering adjustments.

That allows for a more seamless side panel

    And that is my 4runner

John - From a distance a BFG tire and a Goodyear tire will look the same.... round, black, and made of rubber. Are they copying each other? The devil is in the details when it comes to the new ROK-RAX from Rokmen. If you are solely looking at dollars and cents, then the ROK-RAX is not for you. The build quality, accessories, and powder coat(not offering a raw version at this time) put it in a different price range. However I will say in terms of strength, versatility, and optional accessories being developed for it, it's the better option IMO. Also the details like marker lights and optional recessed camp lights are details setting it apart from other racks.

@Littles its just a flexible gutter downpipe that we ran to his intake and trough the fender as a temp solution. It will get replaced with a real snorkel before the camping season starts. I was just helping Brian out prior to our Moab trip last October.

Hmmmm. Gears not broken yet typically voids a warranty. How many gear sets have you gone through?
