So did replacing the idler pulley fix it?
The new HD pack would be the same capacity, but the benefit is you can add an AAL to the new one, bumping the capacity even more. The old ones max out at 660 because I don’t think it’d be advised to add an AAL on top of another AAL.

I replaced IP2 that's between VP and WP on my diagram. But yeah it fixed it. I have to do one more, I think its the bottom most pulley. The noise isn't THAT bad but I can tell there's something there. It also felt different when i spun it but not as bad as the other one that i did replace.

Was it an easy bolt off old part and bolt on new one? Once serpentine belt was removed obviously

Very easy, yea remove bolt and take off pulley. Install new pulley with old bolt. Easy peasy. Hardest part was getting the new belt on. You can remove/install the belt without taking anything off the front of the engine. Just have to fenagle it around the fan.

Get a really long screw driver or mechanics stethoscope and listen to all the pulleys place it on the bolt or center portion of the pulley and put your ear to the handle of the screw driver if you use that. The one causing the issue will be distinctively louder roaring noise. A normal noise is just like a smooth groan.

Yep, I was going to do that. I even saw some guy on YouTube who made a funnel out of a gallon milk jug. He put the spout on the end of the screwdriver and taped it on.. it' a very distinct difference in sound. I didn't do either of those tricks and probably should have. I took the belt off before going to the parts store. Had to hitch a ride with my dad.

I had to do something, so I finally added an extra Bed Rail to the truck so I can hang my fishing rod off it in the summer and my shovel in the winter time. It's a crap pic but I'll post up better ones in my build tmrw

I have seen it burn many a techs just going for the simple common instead of verifying. It's all good the milk jug thing to act like a megaphone is pretty cool. that way you don't have to put your ear to it!

@Kemosabe might take you up on that offer haha maybe if we get a nice weekend in march we can fire up ur heater to get the chill out and I can do my oil chance and we can do ur lift!

and I will be the first to admit that I screwed up when I was installing the bed rail ahahaha I drilled the holes in the wrong place and it ended up crooked hahaha good thing I bought some extra rivnuts! and now that I look at the picture I will have to take it off and trim about an inch off the left side, I put it too close to the cubby I don't think I will be able to install the end caps haha ooops! that's what happen when u work in the dark by urself and don't take ur time. I am usually very meticulous when it comes to things like that and I hate it when I screw up or miss something, but it can be fixed so I wont be too hard on myself lol

yeah, I was pretty pissed off when I stood back and saw one side was one inch lower then the other :annoyed: had to drill out the rivnuts haha as I was doing that I realised I missed the mark by quite a bit  then when I posted the picture I noticed that the end cap might not go in, if not, I will just removed and cut enough off to get it on there. I already cut the bed rail to fit in that location so its all good
