Figured out a perfect use of the factory tapped holes for the factory tube step mounting points. Used 3/4” harness clamps to secure the rear lights/coax harnesses under the truck

The clamps are dirt cheap, that’s what you should do when you run your rear light harness! I’m just happy I had a crazy thought this morning and it worked lol

Thank you! Currently trying to source some parts for my dads old MIG welder so I can do my cab mount chop next. The wire roller gears are bad and I was able to locate part numbers, but finding someone who has em is a tad tough. Gotta call some of the welding supply stores on Monday. It’s a 1985 millermatic 35 welder

Nice, Miller is a good name, I'm sure you were happy to get that from your dad. I bet that you'll find all you need pretty quickly.

Lol he had it rebuilt at some point in the past and whoever did it screwed up those rollers so I found him the PDF of the original owners manual, went thru it and got the exposed diagram with part numbers and told him I’ll call around Monday and see what turns up. Otherwise it’s time to buy a new one if we can’t get the parts

Not bad at all!!! I see that wire loom in the one pic along the frame.

Is that where you ran the wires into the engine bay from the back?

Got all my measurements for the wiring harness with help from @riz_atx and will be ordering materials soon.

Yep it comes from the frame and follows the hard brake lines up below the master cylinder then to the aux panel/switches inside, I can get you some better pics tomorrow of how it runs

:anonymous: I had my buddy weld it for me, his mig welder is fucked up too but his works, so they ain’t perfect, but once I get a couple spots filled in and re smooth the welds and paint it, you won’t notice it too much. It works and so far I’m happy with it.

My other friend Justin offered up his fab guy at his machine shop to stack dimes but I didn’t wanna pay for that

Chose the $18 an hour welds for free, over the actual $28 an hour welds which I’d have to pay for

I've got a 88 Lincoln and I think they will have to make a new gun for me. Debating on just buying a new Lincoln multi-process for more fun. Will probably still buy a gun for the old workhorse anyway.
