Just watching this crap story develop from last night til now. What a bunch of BS. A "BOMB" GTFO! When they first reported it, they said it was a series of small pops. How the hell did this get upgraded so much and why are we so quick to play ourselves into the victim role? The vendor that was a VIETNAM VET said he was scared...yeah right. Probably just said that/coached to say that to the camera. Pretty sure dude saw a lot worse in Vietnam. Now they are saying it was Al Qeida? Yeah right, that thing would have been a lot more impressive and more than likely successful. What terrorist have you heard of that, given the situation, would abandon his bomb? I am in no way advocating terrorism or Al Qeida fwiw. Just seems to me the situation is getting blown way out of proportion when there's worse things.

How bout the oil spill that they could have tried to contain atleast before it made landfall?

How the hell is Iran on the U.N. panel for womens rights?

Just saw something on avatar protest group too? Don't know yet but damn this place is going to hell in a handbasket.

Al queida has claimed other events that they had nothing to do with before, in the suv there was a gun safe which was filled with a grainy substance which they think is fertilizer which was used in the oklahoma city bombings. If this bomb would have went off it would have killed and injured many innocent men women and children. To say this is crap is bull shit, this could have been a very sad and serious incedent. The oil spill is a big story and has been covered throughout the whole ordeal.

I'm in no way trying to say the loss of life is crap. I think the coverage has just gotten out of control and the way they are reporting it

You have a point, but the news now days is going to rape this story until no one cares about it anymore. That is what gets the views because alot of people will continue to watch until the story has come to a end.

I say let's turn this into something positive---

At least the bomb wasn't in a Taco dbl cab all modded out---now that would have been a true horrific crime.....

    Any other positive thoughts?

i haven't been following the story so i dont even know if there was a bomb found or not, but i do agree that the news is annoyingly manipulative. "tonight on news 10, find out what common household product you use every day could kill you in the most painful horrific way possible at any given moment. find out how to protect yourself at 11:00". so these assholes are gonna let me sit in my living room surrounded by murderous household products for the next 4 hours, when they could have just told me on the commercial. of course i dont watch the news anyway so i'm still surrounded by murderous household products

    oil change...
I saw this on the news yesterday, a few cans of gas, some propane tanks, some fireworks, and some fertilizer that did NOT have nitrates in it (the stuff that goes boom)

A 5 year old could have done a better job at making a "bomb".

I don't understand the rant... Harm was intended.

NEW YORK - Pakistani-born U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad has admitted trying to set off a car bomb in busy Times Square and will face terrorism and mass destruction charges, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday. "Based on what we know so far, it is clear that this was a terrorist plot aimed at murdering Americans in one of the busiest places in our country," Holder said.
Shahzad, 30, is being questioned and has provided useful information to investigators, Holder said. The FBI read Shahzad his constitutional rights after he provided information, and he continued to cooperate, FBI Deputy Director John Pistole said.
