since tacoma world is such a bada$$ forum full of helpful advice I’m asking for it...B1A25575-B1EB-43BF-B107-F02F137BD54B.jpg
so this is my tacoma. It is a 2wd LB sport. Had purchased the mx4 tonneau cover in November, about 3 weeks ago I purchased the 17” pro wheels which I have on stock tires for now... but now I’m getting the itch for more! Debating on doing a lift and some tires... now asking for advice. I commute about 80-100 miles a day, do not do much off roading but wouldn’t mind trails here n there, and carry tools in the bed mon-fri. Any advice or opinions you have on lift/tires please share... thanks!

If you care about your mpg then keep tire size P rated and stock size and no lift. If you do not care at all about mpg then go big and heavy!

    Trade in and buy a 4X4, You’re welcome. j/k.

For lift try...King, Fox, icon, bilstein, OME.

For tires... BFG KO2, falken wildpeaks, nitto ridge grapplers and Cooper seem to be the most popular here in TW.

    Good luck.

It's easy to see you are smart. You made the best decision and got the DCLB.

If you don't need 4x4, you don't need a lift or bigger tires either. I say upgrade your sound system, upgrade to LED's, mud flaps, and other plastic bling.

Was thinking of possibly just throwing on some A/T tires and a leveling kit.. decisions are hard to make when you read both good and bad reviews

I to had this issue at one point. I ended up going for a Toytec boss 2.5 lift with total chaos upper control arms, pro 4runner wheels, 275s bfg ko2. My only regret is probably the tires. They KILL the mpg. I would have went withsomthing softer so i wouldnt feel the small bumps as much

Btw nice truck, hit me up when you want to trade hoods so you can get rid of the awful skewp! I trade my hood (skewp) that should give you an extra mpg.

That would be the way to go or just add the bilstien 5100's and swap out the shocks.

Tire topics are insane on the forums! When you think you found the right tire you find a handful of bad reviews!

What tire are looking at?? hancook, general, ko2, nitto, toyo?? There are lots of tires. The first 2 are reasonably priced decent tire, the last 3 are a little more expensive but tend to last longer in the dirt. As long as your not just spinning tires all the time and doing donuts. Then they tend to chunk.

100 miles a day is tough on mileage even with stock tires.

Just the same, start with tires, search through the boards and see which look the best and have the best responses.

Popular tires are BFG AT2, Goodyear Duratrac, Toyo AT, Nitto Terra, etc. All will add an aggressive look. You can go up one size and pair with a leveling kit/shocks.

    1st thing first.

    Remove the damn air dam!

Haha. Yea I’ve heard from several people to remove the air damn... a few coworkers have bfg’s and Toyo A/T and seem happy with them. Think I’m just being a little to picky. Seems like a lot of people go with the 5100’s for just a leveled/slight lift for everyday driving

2WD?! Keep it stock if you care about MPGs. Spacers would improve the look a lot IMO.
