hey all...I spend most my time lurking here but this problem has me stymied. It started a few months ago...I would hit the lock button on my fob and sometimes the lights would flash and the truck would lock ok. Other times it would sound like the locking was weak and no lights and when I’d try the door to make sure it locked, sometimes it did and sometimes it didn’t. Same with unlocking the doors though it seems to happen less when unlocking.

I recently replaced the battery in the fob thinking it might be weak but no go.

So I come and prostrate myself before the second gen braintrust. Any ideas???

FWIW, locking from the drivers door using the key locks all doors as advertised.

Had the same issue on my 2010. There is likely a carbon buildup on an actuating part. There is a YouTube out there that shows how to get to it and clean it vs high dollar part sold only as assembly. I never cleaned mine and it basically went away only repeated on really cold damp days for a while and then went away all together.

Is this actuator a single part that locks all the doors that is bypassed when using the key to lock the doors rather than the fob?

Ok...I found a you tube video with a guy fixing an actuator by replacing the motor that drives a wormgear. Motors are about $6 each. Looks like a summer job. It didn’t appear that he cleaned anything, just replaced an inexpensive motor.

In the situation I had it would be a single door that wouldn’t lock or unlock and the button on the door had the same result as the fob and you had to use the key. Actuator in each door. After I re-read your original post it may not be the same issue.
