Are we still shooting for a beer meet during the first weekend of March? Was that good or bad for some folks - can't remember. You all got out and did your trail runs last weekend, so now it's time to drink.

I spoke to a sales rep for discount tire today. He said that cooper may be discontinuing the st maxx in 255 85, because people dont buy them.

 

That was a great tire and size combo

Rattle can rustoleum truck bed. Stuff is like thick paint. I thought it would be more textured like real bed liner coating...but it' not

1. Clean up the skids and install
2. Rear diff breather mod
3. Maybe a set of bed bars

 

Ya know that feeling? Where you start tearing into your truck after work for what should be a pretty quick mod hoping to get it done before bed? Then you find it's after 11pm. Midnight. 1am. Finally finished installing my rack lights last night, four more front, two rear around 2am last night.

I’m getting too old to pull that stunt anymore. On the bright side this set up is ridiculously... bright.

any of yall have the factory rocker switch blanks? i need a few for my truck

 

Thanks for the advice on wire gauge! I ended up using a 12G wire (solid, big mistake, so hard to route, should have gone stranded) for the main light run since it had 4 lights on it. Got it all set up, final tweaks and prep for zipping everything up only to find two of my four lights weren't working.

Ended up tearing apart that entire section of the wiring harness (1am) and cobbling together a working harness but I'm not proud of it. Going to build a new section for where the lights actually tap into those two main lines and get it in there... some day.

Also not tickled with the relays I've got under the hood - 3 different relays (2 different front sets of lights, 1 for rear). I've cleaned it up as best I could with conduit where possible and zip ties but it's a lot messier than I'd like. Probably going to just bite the bullet and get something like a Switch Pros set up, which would eliminate the 3 different switches I have, consolidate a ton of the cabling and make life a little easier.

Open to suggestions for this! $549 is a lot to spend for a switching system for lights but it's got some really cool features - including an app that allows you to manage the lights remotely. That would be super handy for my rear flood lights which are mostly for lighting up the camping area.
