I ran a test tonight of it somewhat tucked in the dash and it ran fine. More than anything else, I need a momentary garage switch. Other than that I'm ready to solder lol.

So I have to ask, what if you don't use a momentary, but use a SPST push on/push off button? What's the worst that can happen other than you forget to push it into the off position?

You drain the battery in your remote then have to take everything apart to replace the battery. You may have to reprogram the remote.

Clever, but wouldn't it be easier to install a homelink mirror?

I think the point is to not pay $149.

Me too, for things that are beyond my skill set. But this one is pretty simple for me (I think), and the only real price to pay to get it done is the switch, which I can't seem to find.....

The way garage remotes work I thought they needed to see a pulse meaning a falling edge...(typical of when the button is released) but I haven’t tested to see if you can press and keep holding and see if the garage door/gate will open before the momentary is released...aside from this, frequent battery replacements as mentioned above.

Finished out my garage door opener project.

Works just fine. I wish it was a momentary switch, but I like my switch just fine. My kids have called my trucks the yard matey for years, because the plate (YARM8E), so why not. I put this in the engine compartment so I wouldn't have to take panels down to trouble shoot or change the battery. If it gets too wet in there, I'll move it.

    Nice!

Or, just use a small ziplok bag. I use one over my cellphone when commuting on my motorcycle.

Momentary buttons aren’t hard to get tho...they’re abundant via online.

You would think. I'm not internet challenged and spent 2 days looking. Emailed CH4x4 and got a poorly worded email that basically said no they don't have any. 3 week wait from AoB. Momentary switches, yeah, there's a shit ton of them. In Toyota size, not so much.
