I almost pulled the trigger on those icon leafs packs. Well, any leaf pack really... the Icon ones come with the extra leaf (I'm sure I'm paying for it) that will give you the option of 3 different load capacities. If I should ever, which I highly doubt I would, carry any constant weight in the bed, I could throw the extra leaf on there.. just like the Dakar with the AAL.

these leaf packs are expensive to ship. I actually found a site last night that was not charging shipping. Who know if thats for real or not.

The icons are 699 off the shelf. For that money, I'm at the price of the J66 deavers.

 

They can make it just inside my bedsides, perched just on top of my axle

but again, do I need the multi rate because I highly doubt I'll ever load up my bed. for that $700 I can get some deavers.

I need to find out which ones will best suit my needs. I want them to be flexy enough but able to carry some loads sometimes when I'm hauling building materials

 

Pretty much all leafs are multi-rate. The only way a leaf pack could be linear is to have all the leafs the same length.

 

You'd be adding the cost of conduit, fittings, and more expensive boxes and covers. Plus to do it right, you shouldn't be pulling romex through that conduit...

 

I meant on terms of the icon pack. I'm paying for the added extra leaf, but do I need it.

It ended just after midnight my time, but I was so spun up, I didn't get to sleep until almost 2 am...needless to say, I am tired this morning!

 

The dakars are "tuneable" too. You can remove the 3rd leaf from the pack for a more compliant ride, or add the AAL for a more firm ride. Downside is I don't think they're quite as flexy as others.

 

Deavers may be more flexy and they have a standard spring that gives 1.5"of lift you could probably do an AAL to them as well.

@ovrlndkull this is what i was talking about. the icons are the same exact thing, but the extra leaf is included in the initial sale.

 

through the romex would be a tough time. through the conduit, however, yeah! I just won't ever come over to the garage for taco sunday

 

I'd get the deavers but they're so damn expensive. i think I'm going to have a chat with ATS spring near me and @Blackout14 . see how much his will be. I'll be able to tell homie exactly what I do and have that made for me
