Smoked Italian sausage then threw it together with some sautéed sweet onions and bell peppers. Came out amazing. New staple in the house. Little PF added for some flare and to say I did so.

Instead of buying a Traeger you could have just put an Automatic Temperature Controller on the Weber and accomplished the same thing. And monitored the temp on 3 separate pieces of meat at the same time without any additional hardware.

When the pellet pooper takes a shit in the big bed your dead in the water until you get replacement parts. With an ATC on a Weber, BGE or any one of the other units they make adapters for you just open the vents and run them manually. Just saying. High availability and disaster recovery for the win.

But honestly doesn't matter what you cook on as long as you like it and it makes you happy. And turns out good food

You betcha. Right next to the vaccum sealer that is going to get a workout tommorow taking care of 12 pounds of scrapple and a 10 pound log of sweeeeet Lebanon bologna.

    But is it multithreaded? :p

Damn now I want some squishy white bread.

You know your poor when you boil your hotdogs and do your Kraft mac n cheese in the same water to give it some meat flavor.

Sometimes, often times, I like burgers, dogs, and cheddar, not at the same time, on plain white bread. Don’t judge me.

oh i've been poor... but we rarely eat hot dogs or brats. this was a 4 pack of brats that were as long as 3 hawaiian rolls wide, so it worked out. and now i have hawaiian rolls that i can just go eat randomly throughout the day. these were the offbrand rolls from wally world for like $1.50 i think. the name brand ones are over $4. i can buy 2 packs of these for what 1 pack of legit ones or the actual hawaiian roll hot dog buns cost.

also you're on a tacoma site on a meat cooking thread. i dont think any of us can claim to be poor.

Doesn't mean we never were poor. I'm not talking homeless or 3rd world but still poor enough to eat white bread as a hotdog bun, or "pizza", because you're sick of eating dry bologna sandwichs.

i hear what you're saying, but we were cooking brats. no way was i dropping those on a slice of white bread (and having it stick to the backs of my teeth).

in college, i lived on pizza made on slices of white bread. jar of sauce, bag of cheese, bag of pepperoni, and a loaf of cheapo whitebread. could eat for a week.

Not saying I would choose to make a brat with bread for dinner now, granted I've done it because I didn't want to go back to the store. "Hawaiian" rolls as a bun is great, but calling a hot dog bun a uni-tasker is just going too far.

i used to use the leftover hotdog buns as garlic bread sticks for pasta, but I don't really eat pasta anymore.

Is the temp controller itself not added hardware?

I say just have more than one smoker/grill to begin with. I have my Traeger, I have a propane smoker and a kettle grill for the pizza oven thing my wife got me. This summer I may add to the collection.
