I'm pretty sure SC is an open carry state just like NC so you could always go that route if you feel so inclined.

Yikes. Thanks for the heads up.

We are going to a friend's family beach house, so we will be staying there for free. I guess we will just load up on groceries and have a house party.

The second it enters a vehicle it becomes concealed and would require a permit. Transport becomes an issue then. Sounds like the AR will be riding in the back seat....

Kinda you can carry a long gun openly.

Also you can carry a loaded handgun in your console of your vehicle or glovebox without a permit according to the statutes I just read.

As long as I have had my NC permit, I have been able to carry concealed in SC. nearly 10 years.

I know things can change, and do. we only have a few areas anymore that its a no-no. and I dont care to go to those places, so its all good

Not true, it has to be easily accessible and within reach. If it were locked away it's not concealed, if you're really nervous, take off the slide and put it in a different part of the car.

Not in NC as long as an officer can see it when they are looking in your window in plain sight it is considered openly carried in NC. In Alabama this may be true

That is a valid point. However, if I'm going to carry something it is going to be loaded and within reach of me while driving. An unloaded gun does no good in a vehicle when you pull into a sketchy place unknowingly.
