What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

May I ask as to where you bought and how much the carbon fiber wrap cost?

 

Looks to me like that F150 had been there a little while. The tire tracks appear to have filled in some between the getting stuck and the rescue. Was the F150 2wd, or did he get stuck on a log, have street tires, or what? There isn't THAT much snow.

 

Got my TacomaBeast headlights installed. Thankfully had the work garage to use since this winter never seems to end.

I just happened upon the guy, who has been there for quite a while before I found him. He had been out walking his dog on the power lines, when his gsd (sorry no pics) took off after a coyote, he jumped in his truck to chase them them down and landed up stuck in a drift..(pup was 10mnth, and didn't get far, so everything okay there) Snow was probably 2' deep and loose, mostly sled traffic, and he had road tires on, not much for traction..

and some people were never taught how to drive in poor traction, he was flooring it.... I always tell people that 'you won't get great traction with like'.... but in his case he was screwed long before I showed up..


Its tough to find a good spot to take a dog for a run out here, oil companies own everything and all the roads are blocked off, I take mine down the same power lines fairly regular.I've seen the coyote there a few times too, so keep a pretty close watch on the girl, who is reactive and aggressive with unknown dogs..

Truck does great pulling the boat! It's my father in laws. But probably lost 2 miles per gallon while climbing into the mountains.

The Amsoil was $15 and change per quart at Napa and I needed 6 so $100 there. Then my mechanic charged me 1 1/2 hours for labor and that was $120. I know I could have done it myself but I just don't have the time and the truck really needed it. It has 47k and never had dif service. Figured I'd throw the good stuff in there for extended intervals.

 

How much did that cost? Are you happy with them? Easy install?

 

They were $296 w/bulbs + free shipping from tacomabeast.com. They have a 1 year warranty as long as you stick with halogen bulbs.

Love the look, happy with light output, so far so good. Now they just need to stay dry inside.

You have to take off the grill and get into some places that are hard to reach. Then align them because mine were WAY off.

Changed out all my interior lights for $12.89 !!!!

 

It doesn't look like there is any difference between the high and low beams.

 

That's what I thought too. The highs illuminate the trees a little more. It was past my bedtime so I may take another shot at aiming them when I have more time. In person you can see a difference but the picture doesn't show it very well.
