I'm pretty sure the suspension bits will fit a 2014 also, I think they use the same components. Just an FYI.

Are you even considering any post-emissions diesels? I know the systems are fairly complex but they all have really long warranties on them and seem to be working out. Diesels are making more power stock than they ever have. As much as I'm not a fan of DEF, the post-treatment at least allows them to be tuned to run right.

 

Oh, and Nuno, you should order your AAL. Do it now.

So I just tried to order the AAL, and got this:



WTF??!! Could it be that it is because they are out in the west coast (I think), and aren't open yet?!

 

I'm considering them as well, but looking more seriously at the Pre-emissions stuff. Trouble is that it's hard to find the pre-emissions stuff that doesn't a frame with surface rust already pretty well established unless they're from South of the Mason-Dixon or West of the Rockies. The sweet spot would be the last generation of the Cummins before they switched to DEF (2012 was the last year), since those are still new enough to have paint on the frames instead of rust & the power accessories/conveniences that I'd want, but old enough not to cost $60 large.

 

I don't know of a good mexican place in the city unfortunately. Plenty of bars though haha

 

Here's the way my wife and I look at it. It's only an hour a day, you can find that extra hour whether you wake up earlier, go to bed later, don't watch that stupid reality show at night etc... Not only are you doing it for yourself ( cause who doesn't want to look better naked/ fuck longer) but you're also doing it for your kids. Your kids want you to be around later and don't want to have to take care of you. If you're not around cause you're dead from diabetes related complications, heart attack etc that does them no good. Similarly if you're alive but can't do anything and have to rely on your kids for everything cause you can't get around that's also not doing them any good.

Also the wife is in better shape after 2 kids now than before when she was just doing the typical treadmill, eat a fucking salad every meal thing. Deadlifting and squats are God's gift to men. #buttstuff

I'm narrowing in on a Ram Tradesman 2500 with the Cummins I like the Tradesman because it's simple but still has the basic comforts (power locks, windows, blue tooth, etc). I won't buy Ford's diesel (or their base model), it seems really thirsty and they also really strip down their base models to the point where they just look and feel like a work truck. I don't mind basic, but I want it to still feel like it's a finished vehicle. GM's diesel is really pricey for what it is. I love the Alison transmission but I don't really need it for what I'll be towing. The new Rams are reasonably priced for what you get. I know the 68rfe isn't regarded as the strongest transmission but it also comes with a 100k mile warranty and I'm not at all worried about that Cummins power plant. I also love the sound that inline 6 makes over the V8 diesels.

Oh, and I did test drive the Titan XD diesel the other day. What a comfortable truck! The seats in that thing are awesome. It sounded great and had good power. Payload was very disappointing, only 100# higher than my current F150. The XD being advertised as a 5/8 ton truck is complete BS, the specs don't tell a good story. Nice truck, but belongs in the half ton category though.
