Brand new leafs will settle. No one will argue that. These trucks were, dare I say, 'designed' with flatish leafs. At stock height the location of the axle and spring eyes require the leaf to be fairly flat. If they put leafs in with some 'arc' like everyone wants, the rear would end up way too high.

In reality, blocks are only bad because some people here say they are. There’s relatively no difference between your leafs sitting on the axle and it sitting on a block.

There is a difference in axle wrap with the spring on a block vs. at the spring perch, but for 90% of bro lifted trucks out there it doesn't really matter if you don't mind the excess driving vibes.

With a 1” block, hardly. For the lifts that have 6” blocks, sure. But if you’re overlanding for the gram, I for sure understand the narrative you have to uphold lol

We did Palo duro to Ouray and stayed there for 4 nights and did a bunch of trails. then Ouray to Durango for rafting and train to silverton. Everyone left and 4runner joe and I went to Moab for a day. You can do 3-4 trails in a day in Ouray but we screwed around a lot and walked out to check out everything

Yea, I am planning to do a lot of walking around and such, so main goal is Alpine Loop to explore, go to Animas Forks, see the American basin, cross Cinnamon and Engineer Pass. Prob camp on Alpine Loop and then do Imogene Pass and turn around in Telluride and go to Yankee Boy Basin the next day and explore around Ouray before heading to Moab. I would rather screw around and explore and walk around and all that than try and do as many trails as I can. Then going to Moab for some Mountain Biking, maybe some rock climbing for a day, and then offroading for two days.

But I am going the opposite way, so Palo Duro to Durango to do some exploring and such, then to Silverton and starting Alpine loop in Silverton to Lake City and then Lake city to Ouray.

Not planning any rafting and wasn't planning on the train. Mainly Mountain Biking and Rock Climbing are the other things I am planning on. So hopefully will have someone going with me that does the same lol.

I just don't plan on being rushed so spreading out stuff I know I can do quickly into a longer segment so it feels less like a marathon to do things.

@TACORIDER next time we see each other face to face, I would like to chat about this some more over some maps if that would be fine?

I’ve had 6 trucks in the last few years with spacer lifts. All towing 6-7k pretty much every weekend. Never had any axle wrap whatsoever.

Nice, my last one didn't fare so well. Some Tacomas don't either with their weak ass springs that flatten out right of the dealership lot.

I never went full bro retarded and went with 6" blocks, but on my old truck I had a 2" block and then switched to a 1" to lessen the take-off vibrations I was getting

I am obsessed with that area, I will be back this year also. Alpine loop is really fun.

Never too late to go full on bro again. Some blocks and stretched tires is what you need!

I have never been, so I am ready to get up there and explore and see it.

Still have some planning to do and some gear to get for it, but I want it to happen this year as I had to put it off last year. Which thankfully is a good thing as I am able to plan more.

    Thinking Mid August...
