I actually prefer the more pillow-like ride of the OR on the road. I couldn't care less how it corners...it's not a sports car.

Alright everybody, stop bashing each other. I didn't join this forum to hear a bunch of grown men and women talk crap to each other all day. That's what I have my Xbox live subscription and Call of Duty for. We can all agree that all Tacomas, whatever trim, are badass trucks. We all share the same passion for them. OP just asked a simple question as to what he should get. Just put a simple opinion and move on. No need to bash on the either package. At the end of the day, whatever one he decides on, it will be a Tacoma no less.

Takoloko. Did you buy a sport? The OP asked for opinions, and he's getting some good ones.

There are some good ones, and a whole lot of trim level fanboy-ism. People can state which they prefer without talking shit about the other. Unfortunately this thread has dissolved into mostly the latter.

Yes I currently have a 2012 sport. It suits my needs. I've never needed a locker but then again i have never gone where I would need one. So far 4 lo has gotten me through some crazy stuff just fine.

Yup nothing non-functional about the OR. Here, let's show the Sports folk the tilt and pitch reading you are talking about.

Less is subjective. For some people, color matched flares, scoop, and side view mirror blinkers has the same value as a rear locker, BFG all terrains (that not many people even like), and softer suspension. If the hood scoop has so little value, why is there is there a crap load of people trying to trade for one?

I feel like this has turned into a OR bash everything else thread. SDTaco4x4 - your black sport looks amazing. Much better than an OR. I think in my opinion, I'd feel a little better value-wise going with the OR, but I'd also not want to look at it as much every time I left the truck parked.

Hmm...because of the scoop? Maybe the 17" wheels instead of 16"? Or is it the color matched fenders?

Funny how many don't care for any of it, as it's either non-functional (useless) or less functional than the OR.

I'd say its all of those. Looks is all subjective obviously, but MANY prefer the sport looks from what I've seen so far. I think thats why the PRO has the scoop and all. Best of both worlds and Toyota design knows it.

I loved all the options of the off-road and none of the options for the sport, and looks... didn’t like the wheels, scoop, and the paint matched trim on the sport.
im one of the few that optioned for group 1 package(hard for me to find personally), none of the stereo, tech stuff.. I’ve never been a stereo guy and the last thing I need going wrong traveling to Mexico is a bumper sensor or some weird tech stuff like that...but I did wish I had a sunroof...

The Off Road comes standard with turn signals in the mirrors and a color matched rear bumper if you go with Premium and Tech package.

Now do those same cosmetic mods to a sport ;)

But yes modded like that it looks great I think. But this is all opinion.
