I did the drivers side without spacer just to hold in place. The passenger side went in very easy since the plate was aligned. Once I had pass side in removed driver side and re installed with spacer.

Guys with OR versions did you use washers on the bolts for the hook?

Just installed. Took 2 hours. Lessons learned.

    1. A shallow socket and nut driver is highly recommended. It allows you to apply pressure to start the threads.
    333503D6-9D0B-416C-AD5B-0D5910508F13.jpg

    2. Dry fit without the spacers. This allows you to double check clearances to make sure the spacers are correctly sized for your application. For me they were not. I had to cut a 1/4” off each one to accommodate for my Dobinsons bumper @Dobinsons Mike. I simply used a paint marker to mark the bolts and then cut the spacers to fit.

    3. During your dry fit - once you have the bolts threaded - tighten the rear bolts. This will make it easier to start the front bolts again when installing the spacers.
    C4C95871-0A00-4DEC-96BD-50E96C5C0D8E.jpg

    4. Only do one front bolt at a time. Leave the other one in without the spacers to hold the plate in place.

    It looks great!

Those 2 front bolts took forever to get started, love it now!
If you are looking for isolators for your D-Ring Shackle, I picked up 2 of these from Home Depot for $1.29 each. They fit the gap really good and are cheap.

Hand tight, then stuck a screwdriver in the pin hole and did 1/4 turn more. You’re not getting it off without tools...secure enough for me

Installed to see if I like the black on black without painting the lettering. Thinking about painting the TRD white to match the letters in my grille. What do you think guys? Leave it or paint it?

I like it black, all stealthy. I have yet to install mine yet, struggling with the same question. I have a black truck with gun metal accents, thinking of doing an accent in gun metal. That area of the skid would catch a lot of bugs, road dirt.

I accented the color of my shackle to the letters in my TRD Pro grill. I like the plate blacked out.

After 3 missed Fedex deliveries, I finally picked it up today.
For a 2011 TRD-OR, any other extra bolts/spacers needed besides the ones it already comes with?
Also, what are people using to paint/color the "TRD" logo.

Thanks and can't wait to bolt it on.

I received my skid plate earlier this week, and contemplated painting the letters after seeing all the posts with what others were doing.

I decided to go for it.

I masked off the letters and cut them out with an Exacto knife. Use a new blade, and only go as deep as the tape.. Cutting out the letters was free form, so not perfect, but unless you are going to crawl up under the truck, you won’t see the minor imperfections.
    841BB756-7E31-452C-96DA-FE111E7EE3D2.jpg

With the skid plate powder coated with a textured finish, make sure to push the tape down well. I used a primer and sprayed real light coats to seal up the edges.
    009019A0-D778-42BD-9C67-E3AD3250F681.jpg

I did start to spray it with bright read, and changed my mind after seeing it sprayed on.. Time to rethink and decide on something a little bit different.. Looking at the truck, I decided to match the Toyota logo in the grille. I picked up a rattle can of Testors Extreme lacquer in Graphite Dust. This was about as close as I could get on short notice. It also has a gloss finish to it, so no clear coat needed.
    6DFC9CD3-9279-4D4F-96DB-8A19885A3653.jpg

End result, tomorrow hopefully, I get it installed.
