shield 9mm worked for me, about as big as i want to carry, and about as small as i want to shoot
I liked the alien gear cloak holster for long term carrying, secure and tucks away nicely. Bought a leather single clip IWB if running to the store. (the double clip alien gear takes a bit to setup in your current pants)

FYI, i have the first gen shield, not the 2.0 (should be an improved trigger). The first gen i bought an apex kit for it. easy to install and made the gun a dream to shoot

Does anyone have any experience with the Glock Blue Label program? I'm seeing "LE Dealers" on their website in my area, but no "Blue Label". As an active duty service member, am I able to go to an LE Dealer and purchase or only a Blue Label dealer?

I think it depends on the place of business...Ive run in to some dealers that wouldnt honor military ID card/w orders...even though the 4473 says that your state of residence is your active duty station. Just may have to call your local gun shop or FFL where you are buying your firearm. Thats been my experience with typical transfers...not blue label

This for sure! I've been carrying every day for about 8 years, and it's a never ending quest for the perfect gun.

I started with the Glock 19. It really is a great gun, and if I could only have one gun this would be it. But for carrying EVERY day, its too big/heavy. You really notice it by the end of the day.

After that was a Kahr P9. Its a nice slim single stack, and the trigger is very smooth. One thing that drove me crazy was I pocket carry an extra magazine, and the rounds would pop out constantly.

Currently I'm on a Glock 43. I really like it, it shoots well, and I literally forget I'm carrying it (I sometimes have to touch my belt to make sure it's still there). What you gain in carry-ability you lose in capacity :(

I recently picked up a Gen 4 Glock 26. It's the same size as the Glock 43 in everything except width, so I'm hoping it's going to be my new EDC. I like that it holds more pills and can use any of the bigger mags.

For holsters, as others have mentioned you will end up with a box. I have tried the leather and hybrid but have decided to go 100% kydex. It holds the gun much more securely and covers the trigger fully. The holster I use for the G43 and upcoming G26 is a Dara Holsters AIWB, low ride straight draw.

I tried a g26... It was just awkward for me. I have learned to make my own holsters. It was a horrible steep learning curve, but I finally got it. Hand stitched leather. I got tired of trying a gun, buying a one size fits most holster, and not liking either. You lose the holster everytime you change guns. $50 minimum. I like the G43, but I didn't buy one. My snubbie goes with me 8 out of 10 rides. The G36 is an excellent carry in the holster I made. I kept my LCP for summer but I can't remember the last time I carried it. I love the sig 229,239,220, series of guns. I shoot them very well and they are absolutely high quality... The problem is the weight. A CCW is only good if you are willing to wear it. The glock is a great gun that I have written off. It can get scratched, worn, dropped, and beaten. I don't like the look at all. BUTTTT. It always goes bang and is a great cheap gun. Look for used they don't wear out. Keep your queens in the safe and carry the work gun. My airweight has 1/2 the finish worn off. LOL

my first carry was a smith airweight 442, just dont feel as comfortable as my shield shooting. That being said, i still carry from time to time, so easy to throw in a pocket holster, its like a big set of keys.

Go to your local gun stores, Bass Pro, Acadamy sports.. Put your hands on them, feel how they feel in your hands. No gun is perfect for everyone. I love my XDS-9. So its really up to how you feel with it.

agreed, if you can put at least 500 thru of your favorite ammo without a hiccup, its good to go.

Holsters. Take a look at the combo of a clipdraw clip with a mic trigger cover holster.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Notice how I didn't knock ANY brands? You're the one who brought Taurus into it. Starting something out of nothing. You probably own a Glock as well I take it. But since you mentioned it. Taurus in MY BOOK is shit. I personally don't think there firearms are quality.

LLama are the worst pistols ever...I have a taurus PT 92 and its a great functioning pistol. I bought it used and still have not had any problems to this day. I cant say anything about other models but this one is great in my experience.

Like Johnnymoto said try a CZ. I aiwb carry the P07 (9mm) for edc. My outdoors pistol is my glock 20 (10mm).
Once you grip a CZ you will see what folks are talking about. Other than the 1911, it's the most cloned pistol in history. The price point is good as well.

The video is pretty one sided lol... For the money a glock is hard to beat. A G19 is pretty damn universal and has always earned it's spot in the safe. I switched to the Glock 36 because it was slimmer and lighter. I did sacrifice capacity during the weight shed. I will say that you need the right sized hand to shoot any double stack. I also live in a pretty calm rural area where I just don't feel the need to have more than 5 or 6 rounds. I avoid places and situations where higher capacity would be useful. Your gun is there to get you out of a bad spot, not fight a full on battle with 3 spare mags and a back up on your ankle. I honestly pray that I never need to pull a gun much less take a life. The biggest concern in my area is the heroin epidemic and the tweakers that only care about getting another hit of trash for their arm. The G19 is a solid gun to start with. I promise you that you will never be "one and done" on any ccw pistol. The G43 kinda fills a sweet spot that makes me recommend it. I do not own it, but I have shot my buddies quite a bit. I would own it but it is not $450 sweeter than my G36. Had I not already owned the 36 I would have bought a 43. Another thing to consider is the 43 and 19 both eat 9mm which is nice to have multiple guns of the same caliber. Other guns suggested like the cz, newer gen taurus, and Springfield's are solid as well. A good trip to the range with $100 in ammo is in your future sir!!!
