    THere has been no merging of threads. It started out with 1 specific light housing for a 12-15' Tacoma and other people keep bringing in pictures of light they got that are different, or for different years.

    I found those after I posted that. If I was interested in these lights for that version headlight I would for sure get the HID version based on my experience with the similar version housing for the earlier trucks in a non-HID. HID would make all the difference in performance IMO.

    I need to learn a bit more about HID first but this is the route I'm thinking about going. They aren't that much more than the LED counterpart anyway

    If anyone’s confused here, I think it’s you, talking about the 2nd gen and 3rd gen version in a second gen forum when the op was specifically asking about the lights from tacomabeast for the 12-15 Tacoma’s. Then you post about your review for the 05-11 Tacoma lights... I haven’t seen anywhere in here that anyone was talking about a 3rd gen taco, unless I missed it somewhere, or you’re referring to the 12-15 Tacoma changes as a 3rd gen, in which case you’ve just confused the hell out of me... yes I asked about lights from a different website but they’re the same exact headlight as the op asked about, just with an hid option. If you think Tacoma beast makes these housings themselves, you’re sadly mistaken. All these headlight housings that people have been talking about in this thread are most likely from the same exact manufacturer in China, just being sold by different websites. If you looked at the lights on tacomabeast and the ones on protuninglab, they even use some of the same pictures... btw you’re lights do look good, glad you like them and thanks for the in depth and detailed review. Glad these aren’t cheaply made lights.

    That’s easy, their slim ballasts. I’ve got hids in my truck right now, I just found a couple parts with a mounting bolt that would fit through the mounting hardware they supply and bolted them down. Ones hanging off the battery lol. It’s secure though and doesn’t move.

    My headlights came today, and I'm looking forward to installing them on Sunday. I ordered from OEMassive and they came with the turn signal and H9 bulb installed. I also ordered VLED V6 switchbacks WAY back in October and they FINALLY came the same day I first saw this thread. I'm debating on whether to install them in these new headlights or send them back. decisions...decisions...

    Be sure to let us know if you do! I was about to purchase these from Tacoma beast but now that there’s an HiD option I’m gonna wait and see what they look like.
    Also, maybe you or someone on can answer my question..
    Since the Protuning lab version of these lights comes with an HID option, does that mean they have an HID projector? Or are they the exact same halogen lights Tacoma beats sells, but with HID bulbs??

    Yea I’m willing to bet it’s the same projecter just with hids. From what I hear, hids do well in halogen projectors. It’s leds that needs a special projector. But I could be wrong
