Info seems to be readily available regarding TRD OR and TRD Sport factory suspensions, but I've never seen any specs on the factory SR5 setup. Anyone know what shocks they are and what the spring rate is of the front coils?

I have an sr5 but have no idea what spring rate the OEM springs are. Many people just replace them if they are doing a bunch of mods. What are your thoughts or plans? That might be the easiest question to answer.

I bought the TRD Pro suspension. I know they are 600lb coils, but have no idea what is currently on my truck.

It’s easier to know how much of an “upgrade” I’m installing if I know what I currently have.

What exactly are you looking for in a upgrade? Higher spring rate? Quality of coilover/shock? Lift?

A slight lift, and less bouncy ride.

I'm less concerned about what I'll get out of the TRD PRO setup as I am curious what the SR5 suspension is. I know the TRD's are Bilstein shocks, but have yet to read what the SR5 shocks are. Are they a flavor of Bilstein too?

I am pretty sure the spring rate is between 540 and 600 on the 2nd gens. The 3rd gen came with 600 lb springs and Hitachi shocks. Icons, kings, fox all have 650 or 700 and then the there is ome which are 590 to 600 depending on the number.

You've probably come across this in the suspension threads...
    550lb TRD Off-Road
    600lb TRD Pro (Eibach)
    650lb Baja

Based on this, and the way my stock truck rides, I figured the stockers would be less than 550. But I'm not really sure.

I also bought the Pro set up but haven't installed yet. Wanting a firmer ride. Still contemplating what I wanna do on the back end.

2014 DCSB here. Here are my pre-lift measurements. Currently sitting at 1.75" rake. Drivers side sits .5" lower than passenger, front and rear. Leaf pack= 3+1 (tow package).

    Ground to fender: (265.70.16)
    DF 34.25------PF 34.75
    DR 36---------PR 36.5

    Hub to fender:
    DF 20----------PF 20.5
    DR 21.75------PR 22.25

You and I are in the same boat brother. I have the same factory setup and I'm debating what to do on the back end. I'm considering a single AAL or a progressive 3 leaf. I'm concerned the progressive might raise the back a bit too high. I'm waiting to see measurements from folks in the TRD PRO thread post-install to decide.

Yep, I'm also contemplating the single AAL, 3 leaf, or maybe a whole new pack.

With my current 1.75" rake, it should be level with the kit. I'd like to maintain some rake, but if I end up level, I'd live with it if it meant I didn't have to do anything else to the back end and risk vibes.

On the other hand, If I end up even the slightest bit nose high, I'm not gonna like it and will want a solution. Like you, I'm waiting on some more results posted. But seems like everything I've seen on the forum, things are turning up slightly nose high.

I'm gonna suck it up and just spend whatever I have to and do whatever has the least chance of causing vibes. Sounds like single leaf can be a rough ride. 3 leaf sounds ok, but lose some carry capacity if the overload is out. With overload in, it's too much rake. A full pack that provides 1.5" lift might be the best choice?

    (Pyrite mica ftw)

in the same boat as you guys (how many of us are out there? )

'14 SR5 DCLB. Ordered the trd pro setup (still awaiting confirmation on shipping). I went with the 1.5 single AAL from headstrong. My pre-lift measurements are borked because of a front spacer, but that is going when i install the pro setup

I believe the springs are 590lb/inch and the shocks are Tokico that come on the base model and sr5 trucks

Thank you! I believe the spring rate of the TRD PRO is 600lbs, so I’m guessing if the ride is a bit stiffer (which I hope), it would be due to the tuning of the shocks more so than the spring rate.
