Poor wording on my end. I meant the rear hatch, not the rear window.

Good question as I’ve never seen one fitted to a third gen. With the flat portion of the tailgate there may be a dust gap to deal with.

I believe the new tailgates are 3" thicker...also, does the flippac fit over the "sharksfin" that the 3rd gen has?

I have the small puck style on mine. Let me know how tall it is and I’ll measure tomorrow.

I remember seeing something in the 3rd gen specific sub-forum about shell fitment on 3rd gens. The Flippac back window is just like a regular shell, so you should be able to find general details about how to fit pre-3rd-gen shells onto a 3rd gen.

Do you have any details on how you made the L-track riser? I just bought a flippac and finding the same issues with the stock bed rails. Thanks.

Did you mount the foam pad like the stock mattress is velcroed on? Asking because I have a nice memory foam topper and I'd like to use it, but worried it will not stay in place and interfere with closing.

Do you having any pics of how you mounted the lights in the tent portion?

BTW, I will buy that L-track system off you if you ever want to sell it separate or the SLO Sail Fly for that matter.

Little foggy but I might have put some details in my build thread - click the Tacoma image in my signature file - but it is quite self explanatory.

Dreaming about getting my hands on Jase’s truck...

    DE894E70-D38C-4F43-8B1C-B7DB2F95DE6C.jpg

But since I can’t afford a 200, much less to do a ute chop on one, I’ll settle for something that @ChandlerDOOM and I dream up.

The foam pad simply lays on top of the factory mattress, it slides a little when closing but for the most part the tent material holds it in place.

The lights are strips that are slid into the fabric loops, I refused to cut the material or drill into the metal support hoops. The material dims them slightly but they are still plenty bright. I added a dimmer for when you only need “enough” light to do your thing.

I started without a rack and when the riser went on I realized I could safely slip a Prinsu up there. Just keep in mind that you aren’t going to be able to carry tall items and still open the lid. Traction mats, and long flat tools win the day unless you intend to dismount whatever is up there everytime you set up camp.

Still for sale and still a krackin’ good deal for the buyer. Just over $13,000 worth of kit here being offered for allot less.

Oh Lawd just saw the location as St. Louis. That might be beyond my reach unless you will ever be out towards Socal.

Sorry don't want to clog up your thread, but I'm a new flippac owner and was wondering if you can take them through a car wash? I googled it and couldn't find anything.

My truck doesn’t fit anything automated anymore but I have taken it to the pay and spray without issue.
