I don't really think about selling the truck for a car, or buying a car to make my DD.... BUT, when the time comes to sell the truck, I've certainly considered getting a more fuel efficient car instead of another Tacoma.

I traded in a VW Touareg for the Tacoma, think I'll keep the truck. It will run on 87 octane.

I traded up from a Mazda3. MPG was a consideration, but in the end the less efficient Tacoma is worth it for me. The overall utility, enjoyment, and quality far outpace the fact that I'm burning more gas now.

Gas would have to stay at $4.5+ for me to consider another vehicle and even at that price I would probably just buy a daily. If you see how f'ed up the body of my truck is you'll know that I'm one of those who needs a truck.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    Not really...I did go from a 2007 Mazda3 s to a 2005 DC Tacoma.

However I am driving to DFW from College STation on a more regular basis and the idea of a more fuel effecient car does sound good.

If I really wanted to get better gas milage I may consider taking off the lift and installing highway tires on the truck first and see if that helps.

Exactly what I finally gave up holding out for! I just traded my Escape Hybrid (which I loved, for the record) in for my new Tacoma, and have been pleasantly surprised at the great gas mileage so far. No, it's not as good as the Escape, but mtn biking and kayaking are a heck of a lot easier now, plus....the Tacoma looks a lot damn cooler doing it too!!
So yeah, the only thing I'd trade for is a Tacoma Hybrid..come on Toyota, you did it for the PrieO'Shit, you can do it for the Taco!

Did that a few yrs ago and regretted it!! Truck is so useful to own. I ended buying a cheap Honda for daily work commute.

I would definitely 'consider' it, but would probably decide against it. Hard to say.

I've owned some sort of truck for fifty years or so. Always need it for hauling stuff but if I sell the ranch, then maybe I will try a car.
I do have several motorcycles and a scooter that get great gas mileage but can't haul much junk. Seems like I always need to haul something.

Come to think of I guess I do have some kinda car.

Yeah, me too. The Mazda3 is a great car, but I needed more utility out of my vehicle. Now I have it. :D
