    @EatSleepTacos when you changed the gas strut on your cap did you took the same compressed lenght but and extedend extended length? Is that clear? Haha I'm looking to maybe replace mine for some that takes the door higher but don't want to mess with moving shock mount lol

    @EatSleepTacos

    I recorded my truck this morning. You hear mostly fan noise, but you can hear the pulleys in the background. It was about 10 degrees and the truck had been out all night. It is always worse during the colder months.

    Not really a whole lot to go on there you have a chirp gotta listen to each pulley and see where it's coming from.
    Just get in the bed of the truck shut the cap door and measure from Mounting point to mounting point that is your max collapsed length and the limiting factor for the max extended lenght without moving the moinmoun points

    The video doesn't really do it justice. It really does sound terrible in person.

    I don't doubt it! I'm just saying it's hard to know what's making the noise without a way to pinpoint it for the camera. It's annoying and embarrassing as well.

    I totally get what you are saying. I know it is at least one of the pulleys. Depending on cost, I might just replace them all and chalk it up to preventative maintenance when I do the serp belt I have had in the garage for almost a year.

    I just replaced it with the same part number! But what Ovrlandkll said is right. Just measure between mounting points with it closed, and that’s your max closed length of the strut
    That doesn’t seem too bad, but I believe you that the vid doesn’t do it justice! Mine seems a little worse than that.

    Give me some money so I can fill in this info
    I don’t remember what it cost to ship but yes, it was a pain in the ass to send it. Multiple forms to fill out and searching for duty codes on a FREE item. The kids at ups had very little clue what to do as well. Lol
