All they did was ask for a PM. Let's not read too far into this.

Yeah I'll step out too, I'm too involved for something that doesn't affect me at all! I also have never seen anything bad about those guys, which makes me hope this is a one off thing, maybe SCS guy has the flu or something.

I do agree and the time tables of folks can def change on the daily. That said though, if there truly is a rust issue I would like to see the results of this. I wheel my truck and if scratches can lead to rust it would be good to know to look for it now instead of being shocked by it later, regardless though I love my wheels.

Me as Well...I have some SR8's up in the rust belt myself. If the bolts are stainless I'm thinking it's residual brake bust stuck on the stainless. Im going through my first winter with them and noticed no rust on them yet.

Im thinking it very well could be that cause stainless...well is stainless! Even if somehow rust does come, wont be the first on the ride.

If it is brake dust, or something similiar, could OP just clean it off then? Has OP tried to wipe it off?

So it could be brake dust. You never scrubbed It? Stainless doesn't take care of itself

Stainless doesn't mean it will always look perfect. My URD exhaust is stainless and that thing looks like it is 100 years old. It is strcturally sound but definitely has picked up rust and such from other components.

Take one out, and take it to the hardware store, they are for appearance only. Or measure the diameter/pitch and order from mcmaster carr. You can also inspect it a bit better and see if it is surface rust from a foreign substance such as brake dust, or if the bolts are actually mild steel and/or have plating defects.

Very true man, my go to for almost any bolt is to just roll to the depot and fit it in the little sizing bolt hole thing.

I had some Cepek’s do this on my 07. Contacted manufacturer directly. I got new ones in a couple of days.
