IMO the ADS shocks look better made than kings. The hoses and fittings seem better quality and the piston is 7075 instead of 6061. Plus usually I just like something different than the mainstream (except I bought a Taco).

Until I get all my armor on, I’m carrying anywhere from 200 - 600 lbs in the bed. I was wondering between the Dakar heavy and medium duty. Figured I could just throw in the extra OL if needed.

well, your opinion is wrong, just sayin, and that's my opinion, which is right ;)

yeah I'd def say with that kind of load potential I'd go heavy. I think Dakar has changed their leafs recently (after I got mine), I have the full pack with the AAL in it.

I agree with you on the shocks, though it is not a popular opinion, not to mention ads is a small awesome company. When I got my new leafs the shocks were then the limit of my travel, so I called ads to ask if it was okay and they said if one of them breaks to send the shocks back and they would send me ET shocks for free.

But I do agree with @stronghammer heavy springs for sure.

Yea, that was another factor: ADS seems to have much more responsive / quick customer service.

Glad I asked about the springs. What kind of weight are you guys carrying on your leafs?

I have a camper shell on full time, full size spare in the back, and put my hardshell tent on sometimes.

I had great customer service out of DSM where I got my King's, they have cool tshirts right @Sandytaco14 tshirt thief?!

    I’d guess that’s around 500-550lbs?

And you’re running the heavy leafs?

I'm running the Dakar full pack with the DL29 AAL, but I believe they changed their leafs up since then?

I also forgot about my HC rear bumper. I would guess my standard daily riding weight is like ~400-500lbs, that's only the spare tire in the back, and I usually have slight rake. The leafs ride great too.

    Awesome. Thanks.

That’s what I’m talking about. That kind of service is the tipping factor for me when it comes to competing products.

Are you running their OEM shocks or did you cut up your truck? I’m just going OEM.

Standard travel shocks. One of these days I’ll upgrade to their 11” shocks.

my rear shocks are my limiting factor. I'll be doing a relocate and longer shock sometime.

It’s fucking me up, because the truck is slowwwwwww, and bringing the bike back out after not riding it for the whole winter, makes me want another sports car. :anonymous:

Or maybe I just need a supercharger.
