Haha opposite there! I got the Google pixel and I think it's pretty damn sweet compared to other Androids.

I always.thought that the iPhone and Galaxy waterproofness was like accidentally getting some from rain or something. I didn't realize they could handle what you did.

Back to my point is I want the maps front and center on my yak and I would just be to worried having a phone up on the deck in a mount.

Damn that's sweet! Do you use spinning outfits mostly or do you like to use baitcasters as well?

Spinning. I’d love to get into a baitcaster but I don’t know how to use one effectively. I guess I should just buy one and give it a go.

This fucker is fast with minimal effort and turns on a dime. I’m zipping around the pond more than worrying about the fish.

Thank you sir. Definitely a last minute trip. I should probably call down and make a reservation sometime in the next couple hours.

    Short review:

The cooler isn't bad at all for the money. And I saw they dropped the price on them to around $120 last time I was in Walmart. But after having it for a while now, I'd probably buy it again even if it was still $150. Keeps ice for a decent amount of time, and doesn't leak. Good enough for me.

    Full review:

I was tired of fighting with a cooler I had picked up for cheap on sale at Bass Pro. You know, the cheap, thin, yet decent sized (what got me) Igloo for like $20. It sucked ass. No other way to describe it. It worked, kept things cold, didn't leak (because it didn't have a drain plug), but it went through ice even after you got it cooled down. Then the lid got deformed and it wouldn't stay attached, so every time you opened it, the lid would pop off.

My dad has always had a stainless Coleman. I wanted one. I know how well they work. So now I'm in the $120 range of coolers. Well, I also know that while I'm not "rough" on coolers, I didn't want a pretty stainless one that I'd be obsessed with keeping perfect. Because I know me... and I would have.

For $30 more, there's this thing. Ugly, rugged, knockoff goodness. The girl I was dating at the time was the first to use it. She took it on a 3 day camping trip with her son's scout troop in July in 100 degree weather. Friday, she packed it threw 20 pounds of ice in it, and threw it in the back of a hot car and headed out. She stopped at Walmart on the way to the camp, got a few more things to throw in, and packed it full with 40 pounds of ice. It lasted all weekend, sat in the car all day Monday, and when I took it out of the car Tuesday, it still had ice in it. I was impressed.

So far, I've taken it on one week long adventure, and after the initial "cool-down" I only had to add ice once. Granted, this was also in October, but still in Florida, so wasn't crazy stupid hot, but warm enough. And I'm also fairly careful about not letting it sit in the sun for no reason.

Honestly, I don't see any reason I won't have it for at least the majority of the rest of my life. So for $150, that's not bad.

I think there’s that Revo 13 down here for sale still (<$700)...it’s crossed my mind a few times as a second yak.

    It’s 12 footer.

    I had the same thoughts.

    Fridge:
    Not super portable
    No ice
    No more soggy food
    No leaking

    Decent roto-molded cooler:
    Portable
    Less ice than cheap coolers
More ice staying ice so less chance of soggy food
Decent drain plug so less chance of leaking

I was good with a cooler until this one, so I didn't see the need to get fancy.

I usually do that with gallon jugs if I know ice is going to be a pain in the ass to get wherever I'm going.

It was still for sale yesterday morning but it’s marked sold now. I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did but no surprise since the weather has gotten very nice recently.
