My wife drives a highlander and she despises driving my truck lol. She just had to drive it for a couple days this past week until I got a new tire in to replace the flat I had and you would have thought she was getting teeth pulled with no novacaine lol

It'll be neat if they put the 2.7 into the Ranger Raptor.

I had general grabber at2 in E on my old taco. She hated turning that thing. Said it drove like a bus.

I said thank you for noticing.

And also for not saying anything about the wheel bearing . ...

The rental Corolla I got when the Taco was in the shop had that. It was cool until it decided to brake suddenly because the guy in front of me braked and then it swerved the car left into on coming traffic automatically... fought it back into the lane and turned the system off right away. Def do not want to deal with this shit, rather just pay attention while driving

I figure go big or go home lol. I didn't think the f150 could do that for payload so i will have to look again but no way am I doing turbos. So an f150 would be a 5.0 and the f250 would be a gasser. Plus I am certain we will get a heavier and larger trailer at some point in the future.

Have you driven the 2.7 turbo yet? I took one on a test drive and even with the full cab I was getting 23-24mpg on the highway at 75mph (instant read out). But same time you put your foot in it and it will light those tires up. Thing is a crazy motor. Only reason I wouldn't personally get it is because I would tow to much and would just want the bigger engine. I wont be at that 10k limit I just don't want to worry when I'm towing around 6-7k.

Sucks you have to sleep in the truck, but the back seat on the full cab is actually plenty big enough to stretch out, plus get it with the DVD player and you can watch a movie at least haha

I like the F-150, but I couldn't imagine owning something that large day to day. I get that the fuel economy matches or exceeds the Tacoma, but I just wouldn't want something that large. The midsize is plenty big for what I need. I am curious to see what the Ranger brings. I'm sure pricewise it will be nearly F-150 money, but sizewise it's more in my wheelhouse. I don't haul lots of stuff that often and I've never towed, so I don't need the capacity.

I say that as someone who priced a Dodge 2500 for fun once.

Size doesn't bother me. A couple days with my DCLB Tacoma and I was 100% confident with it.

Driving a car is weird now. It's funny how little thought I have to put into it. I'm used to things like making wide turns to get into parking spots. When you go back to something that isn't 19 ft long it feels like you can make the turn however you want and still not mess it up.

Ran out to Whole Foods on my lunch break to get one of their smoothies. Saw a 2012+ Baja, so parked next to it to check out the suspension. Guy comes out and sees me checking it out. So I told him about TW, why I was checking it out, and we chatted for a while. I think he may join the forum to check out little things he wants to change on his truck.

    NOICE!

I haven’t driven one yet because I know if I drive it then it’s probably going to come home with me haha. I have heard great things about it and the mpg is stellar. I would be more than happy with that kind of mileage while owning a full size. And ya that’s exactly what I was thinking was I would be able to catch some sleep right in the back seat no problem. I’m a short dude anyways so it’s be perfect lol

I got 3.73s with the 2.7, which lets it tow 8100 lbs. I figure that was plenty for what I need. Realistically I'll probably never be beyond 6500 or so.

I also got an extended cab (SuperCab). No kids so I don't need a giant back seat and I'd rather have the 6.5' bed anyway.

The TSS on the tacomas isn't as overbearing at that. The lane departure is just a warning beep, not 'helpful' steering back. The front collusion warning will brake if needed, but you can change the sensitivity of it. I've had it yell at me to brake once or twice, but it never intervened and braked for me.

That thing would be a beast! Hopefully they don't detune it like they did with the 3.5 ecoboost in the Exploder.
    Safety feature!
If it's for towing heavier, you'll be happier in the 3/4 ton. I'd still read the reviews... the new F150 and 250 aren't as well liked for towing heavy. They have power for days but because they made them so light, they tend to get pushed around by the trailer more.
