That was on the list of ones I was looking at getting. Just didn’t seem as well equipped for fishing as the others I looked at.

I feel like that’s the biggest con to this kayak. I like those raised seats on all the other ones I’ve looked at.

If you’re not wanting a peddle system, a lot of people swore by those Tarpons...but if you’re in that price range, you should just throw a couple more bones in for a brand new Vibe.

After experiencing my first peddle kayak today, I’d never buy one for fishing that didn’t have a drive system.

We'll have to get together for some fishing/kayaking soon...now that you’re retired again. I’ll let you take the Compass for a spin.

I’ve already bought bed stiffeners from Dan and I haven’t even gotten there yet. Going in with blinders on. :anonymous:

He’s already got one he uses to fish out of but is going to the next level. I’d say save the money, skip the next level and go straight into one with pedals when able.

    That’s too much IMO.

    Yeah this ^^^^

I have my 10ft pelican that I can use for small stuff and basic paddling when I just want to get out the house. I just wanted something more capable for bigger water and saltwater. Just can’t being myself to spend almost 2k on a kayak. I’d just go buy a cheap Jon boat for that.

And plus the gf would kill me if I brought home something like that because according to her I never use mine. But that’s the main reason I want another one is so I can get out more because my kayak will be more capable to do what I want it to do and go more places than mine can now.

I'd say Vibe all the way then. Brand new w/ good seat, paddle, rudder, etc. for less than $1k...you'll get good use out of it and if you start to use it a lot more and want to step it up to something with a drive system, you'll get a lot of your money back out of it.
