Y'all. I don't think I've ever desired a rifle as much as I want this one. Holy smokes. It's old school. It's new school. It's full-size G.I. Joe in a box cool. It's 308 and I just love the way those rounds thump. It's also close to two-grand and 9 pounds, putting into Gibson Les Paul holy grail territory, but good golly do I ever want it:

I got an email this morning from Sig Sauer about some of their scopes going on sale.
    I took a look and....
    Whiskey3 3-9x40 Triplex $239 on sale for $99.
    Whiskey3 4-12x40 Hellfire Quadplex $479 for $199.
    They are sold out now.

I have a Sig M400 Enhanced and a Sig MCX(I put a ‘Limbsaver’ butt pad on it since that skeletonized butt stock hurt), that just got some new scopes coming their way.
    Anyone have these scopes?
    Like or not like?

I did read some reviews before buying....will see.

One other item that for me blows away any other red dot IMHO is the Holosun 503C....got it for $160 earlier this year....ridiculous battery life. 20,000 hours for circle dot at mid brightness. 50,000 hours for dot only at mid brightness. Auto on feature.

10-4, I could not really tell from the photo, Para Double stack is nice but to large for my hand.

@SurfratTX im a fan of the holosuns, they seem to be a good budget alternative for aim point, I have one (planning on getting more as funds allow) and I’m very pleased with it.

Yeah I had shot a few friends guns with the Aimpoints.....I like the Holosun better....better features, especially the solar power aspect. Not to mention $$ cheaper.

I've heard of issues with the double stack and the fact they had a ramped barrell kinda turned then off to me for my first 1911

I hear that the ramped barrel is handy if you want to shoot both .45 and .38 super from the same frame, though. But I also avoided Para when I was 1911 hunting because my hands are too small too. They're small enough that I had to get an extended slide release for my SR1911 just so I could drop the slide without shifting my grip, because my thumb didn't quite have the reach :anonymous:

I like Rifleman, personally, but I've found that a lot of the 'review' content overlaps with G&A. Which is fine; you get different opinions on a lot of new models.

If you like guns and history, American Rifleman
If you like hunting, American Hunter
If you like guns, Shooting Illustrated
If you like politics, America's First Freedom

Me, I get all of them.

AR has great articles on new and old guns, lots of history too.
    AH has great hunting stories.
SI is a really good gun magazine.
AFF really sucks to read. It reports on all the idiot politicians out there, and the wonderful things they say.

I got AFF when I first joined, but it frustrated me so much every month that I switched to Rifleman for the sake of my blood pressure

I dumped the NRA a long time ago and instead joined GOA. I'm not a fan of any "pro-2A" organization that argues in favor of new regulations when all regulations are, in fact, unconstitutional.

While I agree with the idea that all regulations are unconstitutional, what the NRA does is "politics".

I don't agree with all their decisions/acts, but they are biggest and best game in town. To politicians, numbers matter - hence the "power" of the NRA. (Of course, it is not really power, rather a block representation of "we the people".)

GOA is a great organization, but they do not have mass behind them that the NRA does.

EDIT: I should probably join GOA also.

Got to so some shooting at 500 yards with inconsistent full force winds at a 75° angle. Was a great learning experience.

Hey folks, I’d like some input. I am going to be selling off a portion of my gun collection, to include several new in the box optics. I’m OK with listing my optics virtually anywhere but not sure about how or where to list the guns. We used to have a local magazine/trader type publication that we could list them in and there was a steady stream of local guys that we all knew that would buy and trade them. That magazine is no more. I plan to get rid of maybe a dozen or so long guns and maybe 8-10 higher end optics (Leica, Swarovski, Kahles, & Schmidt and Bender) and mid grade optics (Leupold VX6, Meopta, Trijicon, etc.). Does anyone have any advice as to the safest way to sell the long guns? Are places like Gunbroker safe and legit? I want to try to be as responsible as possible when getting rid of them and all of the guns and optics I’m selling are NIB, never fired. Thoughts/advice appreciated. :)

Gunbroker should be good to go and armslist if you want to do local face to face deals

Thanks! I had not heard of Armslist. I bought way too many guns over the last 3-4 years and have dozens that have never been shot. It’s time for them to go. :)
