Nvm Impact won't fix that. I got lucky my original's didn't seize like that. My bushings did though in the back of the frame. Antiseize everything and replace anything you can with greasable stuff.

I just used a big frigging wrench, mine came right off. The shackles are what kicked my ass, wound up having to hit them with a torch to get them out. You are using PB-Blaster or some other form of penetrating oil on these, right?

It's a 19mm, I suggest you grab a 19mm socket and three foot breaker bar, but if it is siezed even that won't help.

I used a cut off wheel. WAY faster than a sawzall. However, more dangerous..

Like others have said, Sawzall will do the trick, and carbide tipped blades made a world of difference for me when I went through essentially the same thing with the alignment cam bolts of the lower control arms.

Both sides of mine were seized on my truck. I used a 4” or 4.5” cutoff wheel on a grinder and it worked well, but it’s pretty difficult to get to the inside of driver’s side bolt with the gas tank there. I ended up laying underneath the truck towards the passenger side and holding the grinder out in front and above me.

Get your socket/breaker bar on the outside braced against the frame/body, then put the box end of a wrench on the nut on the inside, hook another wrench on that to extend it, then put some ass into it.

Many thanks, I assumed as much, but very easy for you to check since you had everything apart. Come spring, when the shade tree garage opens for the season, that is going to be one of my first projects. I'm going to try to do a good job documenting.

I've found that using the long handle from my floor jack works great as a 3 ft extension/breaker bar in a pinch, when I couldn't find where I put my breaker bar, lol.

Well in a sick turn of events I guess I'm taking my leafs apart today too, putting in two more on each side, with a possible third if it isn't enough.

Was thinking to do something similar as I want to keep the cap on my truck as well do to having two dogs, and liking dry storage.

Do you have pictures of how you mounted it to that cage inside and out? I am assuming 2 holes drilled through the cap per mounting location with some sort of spacer on the outside of the cap to keep the RTT off? What did you do to seal the holes, if anything?

I resulted to cutting mine out and buying newer extended u-bolts. Was worth the price over frustration of not having air tools myself.
