Help needed Fog lights on SR

I bought a set of trd fog lights with bezels and need to know of a place to buy all the stuff to make it work. My SR is not prewired and all the threads i find show people buying complete kits with light but none with just the wiring harness and other supplies needed. Ive sent PMs to some members that did the Mod with no response.

 

This should show ya everything real well. You will need to buy or make the harness since you only have the lights. Not much to it. My SR was pre wired...I used an aftermarket switch combined with the factory wiring. I think to make the harness you will just need a couple H11 pigtails, and a relay and a switch...well and some wire.

When you say prewired does that mean there might be a connection behind the bezels where the lights would go?

 

Yup there is already wires there behind the grill, and in the steering column.
Read both that thread and this one a few times...things will begin to make more sense!

I just checked your post history, and you have the rear sliding window ... which comes with the convenience package. I'm happy to tell you that you are pre-wired.

 

As already stated, read thru those threads.
There is a factory plug down behind the grill, that will take the factory wiring harness - in case you don't want to make one.
I purchased one (not that expensive) and it came with all the plastic retaining clips that push into all the little holes that support the harness itself.

 

Thought all 16 17 tacomas have rear sliding windows

Well accoding to the pictures im trying to match with the linked pictures i dont think im prewired. I dont have the blue and white wire on the top row?

What about the blue wire to pin 26 on the ECU plug?

 

Honeslty i dont know. Im not familiar with wiring and such. I just posted thr pictures of my driver steering wheel wires and the one from the thread. They dont match up.

If you aren't pre wired, you are the first of many convenience package owners who made this upgrade on here.

 

So if it is prewired i dont need to feed any wire from the engine bay to the inside. Just need to buy a wiring harness and the switch to the steering column? Lol i wonder what the convenience package comes with. Because i had to buy the intermittent windshield wiper from a junk yard and you think that would be standard lol.

 

Correct. I have posts in Nitori's thread with a little more information for the prewired install. I did have the extra 2 wires to my steering wheel, but he also had me check the wire to the ECU. There should be a picture showing where that is as well.

 

Im reading some posts saying they have the wire behind the grill but not the wires behind the steering column. I believe with the pictures i provided i dont think im prewired.

 

Can somone help me out and look at my pictures that i posted of my steering wheel showing the wires and tell me if it looks like its prewired? I would hate to buy all the parts just to see it doesnt work

 

What year is your truck? convenience package=keyless entry and cruise.
Mine is a 17 with the convenience package...pre wired.

 

I have a 17 and it doesnt have cruise or keyless entry.
