We chose Trupanion on our Vets advice and have no complaints. Our previous set of pugs had diabetes, cataracts, emergency blockage removal and we have always been reimbursed fairly.

They cover more of the emergency and high dollar operations. Coverages vary by company and of course by what scenarios you are looking to cover.

Ask your Vet to explain the differences in the company's coverages.

My yard looks horrible. They dig holes bigger than they are.

Keep Laila in your prayers. Sunday she had a little limp. By Wednesday she was tripping on her rear paws. Thursday she could stand up but couldn't walk. Today she's completely limp from the hips down.

The vet did a full workup on her yesterday, XRay & poke/prod didn't tell him anything. Blood/urine/stool results will be in sometime today. If they're inconclusive then we're headed steaight to the neurologist.

Wednesday night she could manage to get around but couldn't fully stand up.

Here's a video of her this morning, she refused to let me help her.

Are you doing nose training for sport?
I started the process of putting my Bloodhound through training to be a Cadaver dog but when I spoke with my local S&R and asked what I can expect they basically said I just give them my dog, they use her, and call me when they don't need her anymore. That was the gist of it. I asked if I could be present if I took any type of training and they said no. I wasn't happy with the conversation and honestly felt like they saw her as an expendable tool they didn't need to take care of.

Thanks! The Stock F motor blew a few months back. Decided to go with a 350/350 swap. Just bolted the modified TH350 to the Toyota Tcase last night. Probably get it all attached to the motor by this weekend. Then have to get it all welded into the truck. Then work on converting my TBI kit i had for the F motor over to the 350.

Sadie and I pray for Laila. We just got back from our last pheasant hunt of the season. Club birds. Still, so much fun to watch her work.

Sydney went and broke herself a couple days ago: torn left CCL. Not looking forward to the surgery bill, but she's worth it. We'll see how she handles the post-surgury limited physical activity.

Thank you all. This is unbelievably quick since being normal Sunday, my brain just can't catch up.

At this point we have her labwork & XRay results from yesterday, all clear, clean as a whistle on paper. I brought her to the neurological center, initial review shows she is mostly numb from her lumbar down, but she did yelp when they pinched her feet so its a topical numb, not full if that makes sense.
Neuro vet is in surgery so we're waiting an hour or so for him to weigh in.

Thank you all for your support, I'm barely keeping it together.

oh my how much changed in 40 minutes. They want $4k for an MRI, then best case scenario the easiest surgery is for a slipped or bulging disc and runs $4k-$6k. I can't spend 8-10k on a 10 year old dog when the breed normally lives 10-13 years. They're sending me home with steroids & stronger pain pills. 1 in a million that she'll get better from that, but it'll give us a chance to say bye.

This is very sad news. Our -much- younger dog went thru fits of pain/crying that the vets said was caused by too much fetch/contorting to grab at elusive tennis balls.. we toned down the fetch game and it seems to have ended it..
Thoughts and prayers going out to your pooch, and we're holding out for that one in a million.
