    I couldn't imagine someone not getting the truss, I figure anyone looking into an aftermarket axle has a heavy ass truck and/or going to be abusing it & since they take care of it in house it's a no brainer. But yeah, my curiosity was about weight with the truss since it brings it up stronger than the RJ60 housing.

    Also I didn't know they offered a 3.5 tube upgrade for the 9, wouldn't have thought the larger tube would be compatible with our bearing adapters. Or do they custom machine those in house?

    You didn't get the optional weld-on skid for the bottom of the 9?

    How much wider over stock did you request?

    Yeah I'm not sold on the front part. I'm just gonna have the add the weld on skid to the main housing. Once I get the axle installed and everything set I'll see how things line up and decide if I'm going to do a pinion guard or not.

    I also asked them to leave one of the bottom studs out. I'm going to use a bolt instead and use that as my drain plug and that front part of the skid would be annoying.

    I do the same thing on my older pickup. A quick tack weld on the drain plug will keep it from falling out too. I've seen that happen a few times.

    I'm specing out my ford 9" on Currie's website. What gearing did you select? they have a 4.57 and 4.86. No 4.56 or 4.88 option? are you just going to run with a 0.4% difference?

    LOL. It won’t make a difference. If you are using 4wd you are in a situation where at least one tire is slipping. Crawlers do it all the time.

    How would it factor into driving in 4 high on the highway during snowstorms with slush and light snowpack on the road. Say 20-40 mph? Still enough slippage happening to make it a non issue?
