Any of you have experience with Koons Toyota? Long story short, I got the 3 yr, 36,000 mile free maintenance plan. Here's the dilemna I am in. I am approaching the 5k mile check-in (currently sitting at 4,910 miles). I literally drive 350 miles a week and can't get to them for awhile and don't want to go over and have that mar my maintenance record as I know these clowns will look at everything when selling/trading. If I just get the oil changed and tires rotated at a local mechanic and save the maintenance record, am I going to have a harder time getting a good value for the truck if I ever need to trade it in to Toyota since the maintenance won't be on record?

My other option is to drive a dormant highlander I have sitting in my garage that I don't use, but it is boring. Any advice?

    Thanks!

Edit: the reason why I can't get to them is because I only have one day free a week when I'm not working or taking care of the kids and Koons takes about 3 hours to change freaking oil.

3yr 36K is the standard warranty, they don't do an oil change on your first 5k (I just went through this with the wifes highlander) They do the oil change at 10K. Unless you push for them to do so. You can hold out and just go in later, they check your fluid levels and make sure everything is still functioning correctly and give you a checkout sheet, I had them flash the ECU cause the shifting was all off and there was a TSB available.

    I wouldn't worry honestly.

Thanks, Man! I'll just change the oil myself and rotate the tires. I was on the phone with the rep and asking her what it all was that they did. She said, check the fluids, make sure the wipers work, etc. I said, "yeah, I'm not wasting my Saturday so you can check my wiper blade".

Np. yeah few of the local dealers tend to give you the whole doom and gloom if you don't bring your vehicle in right away. Funny I said the same thing when I called priority about my first maintenance, then asked about the TSB, and thats how they got me to bring it in.

I had my 2010 Highlander thru them and at the time I bought that stupid cadillac maintenance plan which probably cost $3k. What a waste of money. The sheer amount of time spent at their repair shop waiting for my car, I would have been better off just paying out of pocket. The only problem I have had with that car is a window actuator which was like $400.00 over 5 yrs of ownership.

I bought my truck through them back in 2009, never used them for maintenance.

Enjoying it, big change from the truck. Wish they still had the hatchback. I will avoid any crazy modding. As long as possible at least. Need to start saving for a house if possible.

Does anyone live in Braddock Rd and 495? Trying to find some people that know their way around Gen 3s to talk to about logical steps for off-road modding as I am new to the truck game.

The accessport stage 1, at least on the 2006, made the car so much more drive-able. Smooth delivery and limited a lot of the turbo lag. Then the Cobb downpipe and full TBE with an OTS stage 2 93 octane just made the car run amazing. White line sway bars too for handling. Anything more than that and you will run into problems down the road.

Definitely want an accessport, but dont want any trouble with any potential warranty work down the road. I read online that sheehy subaru used to sell, install, and warranty accessports, but an online inquiry returned with they dont do it anymore :(

Not quite sure yet. I'm kind of at the point where I'd like to look at some set ups and ask people how much each thing costs and how it affects ride quality etc. This is all new to me, so would love to hear from experienced folks!

Basic lift is roughly 1200-1500 and nicer lifts with adjustability and better rear leafs for weight is 2000-3500. Depending on what your application is. Then comes the rabbit hole which is mods and they are never ending lmao.
