My Makitas can cut 4x material , definitely like a slider over a fixed saw too

Furniture and built ins is mostly when I run into trouble. I switch out the blade and use it as a radial arm saw when I'm doing more finished work. Never run into problems with thickness, but I have plenty of times had wood that was too wide to cut in one pass and needed to be flipped and cut from the opposite side. I dont have a track saw.

Late but thank you all for the advice. Already carry a pretty healthy stock of good quality brushes. Used Behr premium plus ultra in semi since it's what w used elsewhere in the house. Can out pretty good, with minor marks but still some marks. This was only for my wife's closet so I am okay with a little markage, but I am going to be hopefully installing hardwood throughout this summer downstairs and really considering renting an airless for the trim.

How did you make accurate long cuts in the past? Circular with a guide?

At the ranch we're officially landed on the foundation with all temporary bracing and beams removed with the exception of the 2 beams under the old floor , hope to take those out Monday after we install the permanent posts to the new footing pads we poured , then we can do our skim coat

It will be nice to frame a floor in here , framing these walls without a floor to stand on was a pain in the ass

And use the lock when your plunging. Or join the saw marks in the rail club.

Is that from the saw jumping out of the track detents ?

Did an akwark plunge into ipe, with out the stop or having good body position for the cut. That saw is incredibly strong

So the saw kicked back from resistance and travelled back due to blade rotation
